Noble Thought

I sometimes pretend I have a posting schedule other than "sometime soon."

    Personal life disruption

Hey, everyone. I felt I owed you all an explanation for why it's now two weeks past the last scheduled update for Primrose War.

So, I've had a bit of a personal upheaval. I'm moving forward with building a house, not immediately, but there's been a lot of talking with friends and family about what it'll mean going forward. So that's one thing.

    Unexpected Hiatus

Hello everyone. I wanted to apologize for the lengthy, unexpected hiatus of The Primrose War. It was definitely unplanned, and this time I haven't been writing. Work, leading up to the holidays, has been more stressful than usual with the rush to get things done before I take my two week end-of-year vacation.

    Next chapter delayed

Hello everyone! I apologize, but the next chapter of Primrose War will be delayed by a bit. Between work and a few novel releases that I've been looking forward to, I haven't made as much progress as I wanted to on the next chapter. I do have a solid outline, though, for the rest of the book as well as part of the next, so I haven't been idle.

Story Coming: Striking the Right Chord · 10:21pm May 31st, 2015

Good afternoon everyone! I've got a new story coming down the pipes, and hopefully in the few days, so... I guess this is a "Will be published sometime this week" announcement. Gonna wait until con travel traffic dies down.

Striking the Right Chord sits close to my core Slice of Life storytelling ability: a slower pace, a deeper look at who the characters are and what the world around them means to them. This follows Sonata Dusk, in the aftermath of losing the Battle of the Bands to Sunset Shimmer, Earth's Twilight, and the other girls, as she tries to relieve the stress of living with two alpha personality sisters, each convinced the other is to blame. This is a side-story to The Last Vacation, not a sequel. It happens on the same day as Chapter 7/8. It's also pretty standalone. The major plot point (Pony Twilight never came back through the mirror) is hinted at and somewhat explored - it could hardly not be with Flash as a main character.

Following the Battle of the Bands and their spectacular failure, Sonata and her sisters have isolated themselves. Aria and Adagio, constantly fighting over who to blame for the failure, constantly drag Sonata into their bickering. They ignore that which made her happiest: music, any music.

Sonata, always the pawn in their power games, always the lesser sister, always too weak to assert her own will, leaves her sisters to their own devices for a day to try to find some solace to lessen the burden that's driving her slowly insane.

What she finds is one of the students they victimized: Flash Sentry, playing guitar in the park—alone.

I don't need more to read. ;)

Looking forward to this. :pinkiehappy:

I'll admit, just because you are daring to use Flash, I'm interested.

Hope it captures your attention throughout. I think it's an interesting look at both characters.
