Story Discussion (Discord Vs. Diamond): Could Discord vs. Diamond happen in canon? · 2:47am May 29th, 2015
Well, time for another discussion regarding one of my highest rated stories. This time, I'm not talking about anything heavy like Asperger's and its involvement in Secluded, but a much lighter subject. I seem to get this a lot when it comes to Discord Vs. Diamond; that some people think that this could work as an actual episode in canon if the writers ever decided to do something like this.
Well...I dunno, maybe.
Sort of accurate to show-level writing was sort of what I was planning on going for with this fic (hence the light-hearted themes, some innocent humor, and the E-rating, which I am NOT used to doing most of the time. 
) Plus I hadn't seen this sort of rivalry done in a fanfiction before and thought "Hey, maybe I could do something with this idea" and thus, came Discord Vs. Diamond.
Now, I need to make one thing perfectly clear. The story is NOT a Diamond Tiara abuse fic. Or at least, that wasn't my intention when writing it. It's more meant to be two opposing forces living under the same roof for a weekend and getting on each other's nerves. The problem? Discord has centuries of experience for getting under ponies' skin, while Diamond has only...what maybe 3 or so at most? Kinda depends on if she was always a bully really. Anyway, moving on.
Now, when it comes to Discord in this fic, he DOESN'T want to be in this situation AT ALL. Lets face it, the God of Chaos has better things to do than look after somepony else's kids. Buuuuut, he just can't say no to Fluttershy, especially when she's making an adorable face. It looks like he's having fun most of the time, but he's basically making the best out of the mess he was put in. Diamond's voice really gets on his nerves probably almost as much as her attitude, and he really wishes he could just be doing something else, ANYTHING but watching her.
Although he will admit, there are perks to the job right now. He's definitely taking advantage of the several luxuries in Diamond's mansion.
One thing that I'm starting to find that may make this fic actually accurate to show canon would be Diamond's attitude towards Discord. As it was revealed through the CMC's reaction to Discord in the show, it turns out Discord is not well liked by children. And surprise surprise, Diamond doesn't like him either. This really shouldn't come as much of a surprise given his...background...but I just thought that was sort of relevant...
...Wait, didn't the CMC get along with Discord rather well in the comics?...I dunno, I don't really read those. 
Now one thing regarding Silver Spoon here. I like to think of Silver as the friend of the bully that constantly gets dragged into stuff she doesn't really like doing by her friend, but just sort of goes with it. This is especially true here, as she ends up getting sucked into Discord's shenanigans along with her friend before she even knew what she was really getting herself into. You know you're a devoted friend when you stay alongside your friend when they're facing the God of Chaos.
Anyway, what do you guys think about this? Seeing as we have a Discord centric episode now (the first of it's kind actually where Discord is the main character and not just a side character or antagonist) could this actually happen? I highly doubt the writers would ACTUALLY go this route anytime soon, but is it at least accurate to what it COULD be?
That, and a lot of cosmic power. Diamond can't really compet with only mudpony's strenght.
Also, Diamond si forbidden to have any character development. If Discord must focalisât onde day, it'll obiviously the CMC. Cute concept nonetheless.
It could happen given the right circumstances, and Discord as usual, would do his best to do his worst.
