Hey bronies
I'm getting to the 'Rainbow Falls' part of my story and now that i'm getting closer to the Equestria Games i'd like some input.
I was really disappointed with the show - For all the hype and drama they made the games out to be, when they got to it they wasted it by focusing the limelight on Spike to ignite the torch (and the limey lizard couldn't even do that right)
And we hardly saw ANYTHING in the games other than the relay race and the ice archery event (which Ponyville couldn't even partake in since they didn't have a unicorn; come to think of it, their team was mostly pegasi)
What i'm saying is, I'd like to show off the games in my story in the way the show didn't. But I need more events besides the aerial relay, the air sprinters, and ice archery.
If anypony has some suggestions to play this up, i'm all ears

Well you could focuses it more on Thundelane' i don't member What he dos, but I know at least that he was at the tryouts. The could be a threat of some sort of terrorist attack, I know several Olympics how had receive such things. the objective is more to garner attention more than anything els do. Soran could be one of judges. You could make an obstetrical course that is similar in Mad Pie or somthing more zany, or more homier. You could show that Thunderlane has en envy side to him toward Rainbow Dash, as well as trying to impress his little brother how may also be a Dash fan, and being recruited to in the Wanderbolts may be a way to show that. Soran could easily play the voice of reason instead of Twilight. Soran and spit fire myth try to mend broken bonds.

From ponyvilles Ice skating we have: ICE SKATING!!!!
From Appleloosa we have the Hay loft jumps
From ManeHatten we have 3200 Meter Gallop
From Griffonstone we have Sky diving (think of it like the high dive from the Olympics.) (You can even have the cloud walking spell do so Earth Ponies and Unicorns can compete)
From Nickerlite, we have the Shot Putt (You throw a ball as hard as you can to see how far it will go.)
From Canterlot we have the Spire jump (You jump from spire to spire to get to the other side the fastest
From no were we have the log Roll (Who can stay on the spinning log the longest)
From Cloudsdale we have the
You have levitation race. Holding a weight in your magic field you have to navigate it through a maze of obstales to get your weight to the other side.
You can do Hoof ball (Either Basket Ball or Football)
Wrestling
High jump
Extreme capture the flag. (thing of the seeker in Harry Potter and the ponies need to get the ball)
Wall Climbing
