I don't know what you're talking about, I've always looked like this.

More work more... work I guess. · 2:03pm May 21st, 2015

So, being unemployed just before Christmas, I barely get anything done for three months and then I come out with the long delayed Shortbeak chapter and its ludicrous word length.

Ever since I finally got employed I've found genuinely fulfilling work (sorting out the [DATA EXPUNGED] of [REDACTED] who deserve to be bled dry in any case, I have no sympathy for them) and by genuinely fulfilling I mean it vindicates my legal education even though my job will probably be replaced by a clever computer program in ten years. And since then I uh... have been pretty productive.

You would have had an 18k chapter last Monday until I was convinced to split it, which I am fine with, it worked well from where it was split, and you would have had the reainder of that split this Monday past if not for the fact two out of my three editors are incapacitated. One is a dirty David Bowie loving Canadian dog in bed with awful sickness and Terminal/Guy with the vodka avatar has basically dropped off the face of the Earth. And I kiiinda promised the guys I'd give them all a chance to go over chapters each before rushing them out the door.

That not withstanding, apart from the chapter you are now waiting for, I just finished the 18k Manehatten chapter set after that as well. Although I'm likely to go through that with a comb to take out a superfluous thousand words or so to knock that shit back down to 16k like a respectable gentleman. Mostly because reading over it I'd prefer not to split that chapter in half. Buuuut if I do split it in half, it means the possibility of weekly updates is closer to a reality (much JBL tears will be shed) since I am already a thousand words or so into the chapter after that where things will finally calm down for, like, a chapter before I toss Handy to the fire again.

All that and I still get my work quotas done well on time most days, and spend my lunches writing.

Turns out a busy Handyman is a happy Handyman.
