Thoughts on the new episode (S5E6: "Appleloosa's Most Wanted) · 6:35pm May 2nd, 2015
Well, I can certainly say this: "Appleloosa's Most Wanted" definitely makes me want to go back to writing Hawkeye Delicious.
Overall, I thought the episode was okay, even though Apple Bloom is really starting to get on my nerves. It's nice to see Appleloosa in the spotlight again. As for the character of Troubleshoes Clyde, he seems like your everyday misunderstood gentle giant. And, surprisingly, I can relate to him. When I was younger I made an ass of myself frequently. I was an immature, hyperactive little freak, and in some ways I still am. But it didn't earn me many friends, so I instead became a reclusive, depressed hermit. And that (obviously) didn't work.
But I found my niche when I became the mascot for Georgia State University, because the job of a mascot is pretty much just to make an ass of yourself. Not only can you basically do anything, but also no one can really hate you for it, because it's your job to act silly and entertain the crowd. So where Troublshoes channeled his clumsiness into entertainment as a rodeo clown, I channeled my hyperactivity into entertainment as a mascot. Plus he seems like such a big ol' lovable brute. Someone should ship him with Derpy.
And like I said earlier, I'm probably gonna go back to writing Hawkeye Delicious now that I've seen this episode. So there's that added bonus!
