WTF casting agency?

So the newest trailer for the MLP movie came out. Looks good. Still not sold on the animation style, but still looks alright.

However there is a major problem I have with the movie already: the casting of Taye Diggs as Capper.

Now, let's get a few things straight. I don't have any problem with Taye Diggs; hell I don't know enough about him to have a problem with him. And I hadn't heard his voice until this new trailer. Here it is, by the way, Diggs can be heard at the 1:00 mark: https://youtu.be/KNcus0-z9AM

I mean...wow. That is not at all the voice I hear when I look at someone like this:
