Favorite subgenre? · 3:05am Apr 28th, 2015
It continues to amaze me how many different subgenres of MLP fic are out there. There's everything from feels to drama to comedy to romance. I've seen perfect little slices-of-life, and at least one series that stretches into half-a-million words.
Elementary!
Lately I've been enjoying a few detective stories. Beginnings still seems like it's getting going, but I think it's off to a great start. All In - An Applejack Noir is also unfinished, but there's enough content to bury its hooks pretty deep. I wanna know who dun-doed-it!
Speaking of long series-es...
How about you guys? What's your favorite subgenre?
For me, I have a few. Myths, history and backstories. I like getting into Equestria's past and the backstories of the characters. I also love the myths because they can add to the rich history and backstory of Equestria itself. To me, they all tie in together quite well, and I enjoy reading them all.
3024095 Very cool! Right now I'm enjoying the Fiendship comic miniseries for similar reasons.
(And to mine for more fic inspiration...)

Ooo, I haven't read that one! I shall have to do so!
