Night blogging (12): Procrastination at its finest, and how I get some random story ideas. · 6:43am Apr 9th, 2015
So I've been on and off working on my stories along with school because I've been watching a lot of youtube let's plays lately. I swear, I think I'm getting an addiction or something. Like, once I start a game series, I don't stop until I reach the end or catch up to the most recently uploaded video. Strange how I was pretty much the same way back when I played video games myself. Sheesh, I need to do more with my life.
I recently finished a let's play series of Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations (the second being the unofficial translated version), and I just have to mention how I love some of the music played on it. Compared to the first game I watched, this had incredible moods that set up the situations that go with Miles' personality just so amazing, they've repeated in my head numerous times. I've even hummed and blabbered the tune out loud a few times myself. These ones stuck out to me the most.
Of course, I like how the plot of the game played out as well, and holy shit was I blown away near the end when all of the elements from the cases came together. Won't spoil it though, if you want to see, look up ZSlyzer's videos on youtube. He's got all the Ace Attorney let's plays and doesn't do the commentary if that isn't your kind of thing.
Anyway, as for the story ideas, I sometimes come up with random plots just taking in the elements used from the games and other entertainment media like cartoons and anime. I try not to make them like crossovers, as I'd like to add my own twist to things like these while keeping the foundations from the origins in mind. My first story, CaL, would probably be my best example as I tried to mix elements from Fairy Tail, Rave Master, and a few others that could be recognized if I continued updating it. Again, I'm still thinking about coming back to it one day, I actually got the first chapter of the reboot in progress that I polish from time to time. It could be the third story I'll be working on along with DMC and another fic I have planned to do once TMS is done (there will be a sequel, but I'd like to take a break from it for a while). I'm not sure, but that's something I won't worry about until later.
Now I bet you're thinking if I had any ideas come up after watching the recent game series I just watched, and you're absolutely right. It's been running through my head for a bit as I watched them and did other things outside of the computer, but what story I had in mind was an HiE fic with anthro ponies. No characters from the game will be making an appearance, heck, the main protagonist I have in mind isn't even a prosecutor, or a human. The main character is actually this beauty.
"What?! A reformed villain story?! Are you MAD?!"
Pft. Dude, I think we already established that I am indeed mad. You just don't know how much I can be.
Anyway, what I had in mind was Chrysalis, removed of her title as queen because of her failure in Canterlot's invasion, pairs up with an intelligent, yet snarky human living in Trottingham. They solve murder cases while Chrysalis goes through character development to reformation, along with some funny and sexy moments with other OCs as the story moves along. This might be one of the few stories I'd write as a crossover tag, because the gameplay from the Ace Attorney series I just finished watching plays a big part in how the cases are progressed. I believe highly focused elements from some of what's shown in the media should be included in the tag, and that includes this. Also, I'm taking Logic in college this term, and I'm just ecstatic with how I can put what I learned from there and the game into practice with the story.
So what do you guys think? Again, this is just another idea in the expanding list of stories I'm not sure that I'll ever write, but if you think you can do it, or maybe even make this into a collab with me, I'm open to the request so long as someone asks me first.
That's all I really have for now. I'm currently working on DMC, and I'll get to writing the next TMS chapter after that. Let me know what your guys' thoughts from this blog are about in the comments below. I'll see if I can get it done by the end of this weekend. Also... I know I said I was going to draw something last weekend, but it was Easter and I had to work most of the time... It gets pretty busy at the store during that time of the year, but I'll see if I can squeeze in a doodle or something when I have the chance. Until next time,
This is Dudeler, signing off.
You should know by now that I'm always open to anything you suggest. You ever feel like chatting on Skype, we can bounce ideas off each other. Besides, Miss Chrysalis: Ace Attorney? That sounds awesome. I'm already getting some ideas.
TMS is literally was got me reading. Not even fimfics, just reading in general lol. I anxiously wait for both DMC and TMS. If you wanna start another one for me to wait for I don't mind.
Jkjk.
Do it! Do it now!!!!!!!
