Twilight slumped back on her throne in Canterlot Palace. “You know, Spike,” she said, “this isn’t really what I thought ruling Equestria would be like.”
“Oh yeah?” He glanced down at the schedule in his talons. “Your next appointment is in five minutes, by the way.”
2959110 Well, Jax, I'm gonna tell you a story. Once upon a time, there was an ebay auction. It was for a plushy or something, but that's not important. There were two guys that wanted to win, and the seller said, "Just give me your best offers, and I'll give it to the highest." The first guy, he wasn't that bright. He said, "I'll give you $500, final offer," and then he looked at the second guy.
The second guy would have given $1000. It was a damn fine plushy. That guy, he had friends, and his friends knew that he would give about $1000. They were smart like that, knew their friend well. Really screwed him over sometimes in cases like this, where he was expected to be honest and say something like $1000. So, that second guy, what does he do? Does he say $501 and get the plushy on the cheap, or does he say $1000 and keep face with his friend? Maybe he'd bid $1000 even if his friend weren't around? I don't know, maybe he's protecting his own pride or morals or something.
Here's the thing. That second guy can say whatever he wants. If he wants to say $750, then he can say $750. He's smart, so he can justify anything he says, to anyone but himself at least. So as long as can make peace with what he says, he'll be fine. He doesn't have to be out $500 just to make everyone happy.
What I'm saying is that life is like an ebay auction. Sometimes you just gotta continue writing Daring Do because everyone is pressuring you to do it. That's completely backwards from what I said, but you get the idea.
Anyway, I had a question. In Siren Song chapter 3, you have ponies playing limbo under Celestia. Can you describe that in more detail?
2959110 That is always a problem when trying to make something. I hadn't realized you were having such issues, since you've been able to make a decent number of excellent shorter works since the last time it updated, but I suppose something like Daring Do requires a lot more time investment.
And I think I never did finish re-reading the last few chapters of Siren Song so I could comment on them. Well, that's enough of a time investment it'll probably be a little while.
Yup! Sadly, a chapter of DD typically takes about x3 as long as a short story to write, so I've had a lot of trouble. Decided I'd rather get out 3 new shortfics than one DD chapter.

Sir. Sir. I described no such thing.
I said that Siren used Celestia as the last obstacle in her scooter race around the palace.
Zoom! Buzz! Turn! Neeeow. Jump over the little stairwell! Into the throne room! OH NO THE BRIDGE IS LOW DUCK.
"SIREN SONG GET BACK HERE!"

I didn't understand a word of that so I assume you're very wise and I just lack the wisdom to follow your genius.
Sweet
Now the real question is when (if even) will Daring Do continue? I miss not pink pony

I don't understand what I meant to say, but there is some meaning to glean from it. It says "sleep deprivation is a hell of a drug."
