At just about 5,000 views, Riding Into the Sunset has fallen off of the featured box. Thanks to everyone who read it.

The submitting of this fic was a bit of a whirlwind for me. I got the idea at noon on Wednesday, and started writing at 2 PM. I was finished by 5, and I spent the next few minutes doing some light editing before submitting.

Once it hit FIM, it got kicked off of the front page almost immediately--it was just at the beginning of a submission cycle, I suppose. I added it to as many groups as I could, and in the process, actually got banned from both "Equestria Girls" and "High Quality Mature Fiction." So I guess you could say that I thought my fic was a flop, and that I had just wasted my time. With that in mind, I went to bed.

When I woke up, I had 80 notifications, and Riding was in the Featured box. I have no idea what gave it that sudden boost of popularity, but w/e. I guess people just like horsefucking.

Lots of people have been asking for/about a sequel. As is my policy with most all of my writing, I can't guarantee anything.

However.

Thanks for the views, everyone. A week ago, I thought I would just be posting one fic on this account and never using it again. Life is a truly crazy thing.

I had a similar experience when I released, Bringing a Holiday Miracle for Sunset Shimmer on to the site--except for the whole getting kicked part:rainbowderp:. I just had it edited, submitted, then went to bed. When I logged into the site the next morning...well the rest is quite obvious:twilightsheepish:.

You got banned from 'High Quality Mature Fiction' for posting a mature fic? ... Wut?

Actually Pimapifi wasn't banned from the HQMF group (can't speak for the EQG group), simply warned about submitting stories before they meet the requirements the group has set up for story submission. The HQMF group tries to avoid being used by authors that are trying to build hype for a new story, which is why the submission requirements are set out on the group's description.

After having just read the story, I would like to say I enjoyed it. You do show a good amount of skill and with a bit more time spent expanding and refining, this may have been a contender for the HQMF group. I understand that speed was a large factor in the story's creation since you wanted to capitalize upon the freshly released video, so getting a fleshed out story wasn't too likely under those circumstances, but after what I've just read I think I'll be watching out for future stories to come from you. Just remember to follow submission guidelines .

Yeah, I was mostly using "banned" in a D'Agata-esque attempt at drama.
