This chapter is driving me absolutely crazy

I know I said that the next chapter was almost done, but after stepping away for a bit to deal with IRL stuff and then coming back, I found that I didn’t like where the story was going. So I scrapped a good 1k of it or so, maybe 2k, and re did it. Then I did so again, and again, and again, and again, and so on. Happened with long stretches of paragraphs and short sentences alike. No words were

Proof that I'm alive and working!

Hey guys, sorry it's taking so long to get the next chapter out. I won't bore you with IRL issues because everyone has them, but rather the reason is that I've had to rewrite and restart this thing multiple times. I want the best for you guys and I want this jenga-sudoku-crossword clusterfuck to stay stable and sane. I am slowly hacking away at it; getting short bursts of words out at a time

    Getting off my lazy ass

Alright, new story is pending approval as I write this and I’m going to have some free time after my test in a couple hours. Figure now is as good a time as any to get back to work. That being said, I have a lot of unpublished and unfinished stuff and it’s hard to choose between them to finish. So like I said before, I’m going to do a strawpoll on some of the ones I feel like working on

Why I haven't done jack shit in forever.

I swear to you that I actually have a story that's mostly ready for publishing (2 chapters mostly done with one left to go). Shakespearicles can testify for me. As for why I haven't published it on Mother's day like I had promised myself.... let's just say I kinda got into a train-plane-ship-car wreck that fell from orbit onto my unsuspecting ass. (That's half true as many of the

    Post-April Fool's Serious Update

For those of you who didn't get yesterday's joke, don't worry because I'm not going to change up HLW again. It was hard enough the first time. That being said, I feel like I owe you all some information on my current progress. Last few weeks was an absolute dildo to my writing progress (My "spring break" wasn't much of a break and I just got done with 4 tests over the past two weeks). The Ember

How Writing Works · 4:57am Apr 2nd, 2015

A couple things have come to my attention upon writing the next chapter of HLW and have made me rather paranoid with it. Since I've only planned this entire story out rather recently, I realize I will have to deal with inconsistencies in the future. If I don't address them now, this fic will turn into some horrible fic written by a high-schooler (which it was). Namely, Chrysalis and Shining's personalities and other nuances and circumstances. Also reasoning and motives. Very important.

However, I have noticed a significant increase in my writing capability since I first started this fic. I'm proposing a complete rewrite of the chapters up until Chrysalis goes to Ponyville, at least with some minor tweaks in the chapters afterwards to accommodate the changes made. It should give Chrysalis a more defined, stronger personality and possibly improve the whole conflict between her and Shining. Also, I'll be able to throw in better foreshadowing. This will take up quite a bit of time and will probably be done by summer hopefully. In the meantime, I will be working on my other fics and a couple new ones as well.

What do you think? Should i continue on with this writing hodgepodge or renovate it?

Renovate it!

Keep them coming! :pinkiehappy:

I would certainly like to see it continue. I'll admit I've always seen How Love Works as a bit of a silly fic but not in a bad way. True I wouldn't call every character's reactions show accurate but I wouldn't call that a bad thing. I actually found how a touch of quirkiness made the whole thing rather charming. :twilightsheepish:

That said, I certainly don't think renovation would make it any worse. :duck:

2935503 oh, I still intend to keep it silly, but a stronger character and a few tweaks could fix any plot holes I may have added that would have only hampered my writing.

2936086 I can certainly understand that. I found myself having to revise my own work once I fleshed out in my head and in notes where I wanted it to go. Well, best of luck with it.

i say renovate , making things better is always cool , however if it's all work and no fun don't bother....
