My story, and why writing MLP leaves me now.... conflicted

I think my last post was brief, so I might as well go into some detail here about my story, why I started writing mlp fanfic, and what is happening now.

    G5: OH THE IRONY...

You know, it's really really funny... G5 has all the three tribes of ponies hating each other, and living in a modern setting centuries after FiM. I wrote about this very ideas years ago, before G5 was ever conceived of, in a story where Celestia and Luna go on a vacation incognito to the earth pony town of Coltonville, and find pony hatred and paranoia, as well as a conspiracy against unicorn

    Returning for real this time

Okay, everybody, Paradise/Tornado here again! Yes I know it's been a year, but I needed time to recover from a ten-year burnout in writing, and it took awhile to get my creative juices flowing again. I'm putting together plans for a new story or two, though my plans for my 'big finish' story are on hold again. I hope many of you are still here, and look forward to entertaining all of you with my

Building bridges · 7:28pm Mar 27th, 2015

"Uhhhh, Steamer? I think we need another plank over here!"

Ugh, can you believe it? We're finally getting that stupid bridge over to the mushromp fixed! It's been four years since Megan and I fell in and nearly drown, and Majesty has let that rotten old collection of planks just sit there? Well, the other day I finally went out there with a bunch of construction stallions, and they finally tore out all those old planks and rope, and replaced the entire structure with new wood and support. Now, ponies won't be in any danger when they cross the Rainbow river to go seek advice from Mr. Moochick.

This rickety old bridge and I do have a history, though. Years ago, this is the same place my Ponyville friends and I crossed the river, when we were headed to the palace of the two sisters to find the elements of harmony. the rickety old bridge here at that that time actually broke, and we all would've been goners if it hadn't been for Rainbow Dash saving the day! This spot has been important to me twice in my life, times when my friends came together, and times where a pony or ponies needed saved that made our friendships stronger.

You know, my life has kind of been like that, too. With my friends in Equestria, my dependability held the group together. And now, I'm part of the glue among my Dream Valley group of friends. I've heard it said that I'm one of the bridges between Ponyland and Equestria in the modern world, and a reminder of what the friendship of that age actually meant. There are even ponies who call me a living treasure of Ponykind's past! Not bad for a thousand year old mare who grew up on a farm and used to talk with a funny accent, huh?

My accent... Heh, you know what? I never told tornado this when he was writing his fancy-shcmancy history about me, but I actually still have my accent. But you see, my accent only shows up when I talk pony talk- sorry, I mean what you call 'equinic'. When I learned to talk English, I learned to talk with a- what did Tornado call it?- oh yeah, a 'midwestern accent', so I sound kinda like Megan. And my voice in pony talk sounds a lot more serious, while my English sounds like a mouse on helium. Here, wanna see how different it is?

Pony talk: "Nieeeeghhhh!" (Howdy, mah name's Applejack! How y'all doin?)

English: "Are you sure this bridge is safe?"

See? I sound all crackly and squeaky! Buuut, even though my voice sounds terrible, I still prefer speaking in English, casue everyone else talks like that, and it's a much easier language to use. (that, and I haven't used pony talk that much in a really, really long time) Like I said, not bad for a farm pony with a funny accent, huh?

(And yeah, that chubby pony with the fluffy tail and blue bow blue bow on my butt is me- DEAL WITH IT!)

Sounds fun! Can I help rebuild the bridge too?

There's Equinic and then there's Equinic, two different languages with the same name... which is just me splitting hairs. *shakes head* I can't imagine what it was like, but you still have the stubborness and strength of an Apple. And despite us being separated by the Great Void, an Apple knows their kin *grin*.
