Update on Sugarfree · 4:15pm Mar 27th, 2015
Hey! Just a quick update on where the heck I've been.
Work has been absolutely annihilating my free time on the weekdays, leaving me a little too exhausted to boot up Google Drive and plug away at Sugarfree. On the weekends, I've started on and off seeing this girl I met a while back, so TIME'S BEEN SHORT for ol' Wadey. I'm getting better about putting aside time after work but before my commute (when I still have energy) to move the story forward.
As a result, progress on the next chapter is slow but steady. I initially started with Thorin's perspective as his mind was overwhelmed by Princess Pinkie's, and it was really cool to write, but when I read it over the whole thing felt rather dark. I opted to shift to the perspective from his, to the people on the outside who are rousing him from sleep. I think it's a much better, much more enjoyable direction; the only issue is that it requires me to write a few characters whose voice I hadn't quite worked out until now. THAT is taking some trial and error.
But! I'm making headway now, and I'm enjoying where the narrative is going, so I'm starting to get excited again. Getting excited usually means I make more time to write, which means I get more done.
Momentum is building!
ALSO: Everyone should check out The Mare Who Once Lived on the Moon. Really, really enjoying that fic right now.

Hurrah! On two fronts it seems. Hurray for seeing a lovely lady and hurray for writing. Take your time and make sure the chapter will be as awesome as possible. Without, yknow, crushing your enjoyment.

Take a few moments to clear your mind before writing, though; that sort of joy (or anxiety or depression, if things go south) tends to bleed over into other facets of your life, including artistic works.
That said, I assume you have an outline for the rest of the story already, so the most we'd get is adorably sappy snogging added. Which would be awesome, because adorableness.
