What's in the box? · 4:13am Feb 21st, 2015
So next chapter we get to find out what was in The Box.
I'm curious as to what you all think it is. Clearly I won't spoil it but I'm interested to see if anyone comes close.

Step 1: Cut a hole in the box...
You tease!
It most likely is an egg. Perhaps purple and green in color. Which will hatch in about a millenium to a future goddess.
Or, a really shiny rock. Not like gold or diamond, just a really shiny rock.

Egg or something from his wife, I guess.
* A heavy box wrapped in a waterproof cover, carried on a secret mission, deep into wild Equestrian lands...
* During a war they knew they were going to lose and fearing the worst outcome from the end...
* Obviously something either extremely personal, or something to do with their mission - except that Kree didn't bother to look for or take it from GĂ©rard...
Sorry, no clue!
2816581 You ruined the story
but that was hilarious xD
2816784 That's probably my best guess too, cuz I've got nothing else that could be so precious yet transported in that fashion. GJ
Clearly it's his wife's head.

A small package trying to be snuck into Equestria during wartime, and those bearing it believe it will win them the war?
It's a Balefire Bomb, clearly.
I can see a reason for it to be a Dragon egg: if the griffins are trying to bait the dragons out of their isolationism, assuming it's Scar's brother who is currently ruling Draconia during this time. then a stolen egg in the possession of the ponies might do that. Seems like a dishonourable strategy for the griffins though, so I doubt that... though that could be why Gerard was sent, to once again bear the dishonour for his country.
Hunh.
Okay, bearing in mind that it's entirely possible that Aquila will be killed during this story, what if it is a weapon that can be used to kill a god, and the griffins were sent to assassinate Celestia?
Yeah, I'm gonna go with that as my guess.
Assuming Gerard wasn't leading Compass Rose along the entire time about surrendering I am going to guess it is something to prove that the Griffins were serious about their offer.
It is the one of a kind copy of Aquilas Secret Pony Cookbook.
I'm guessing it's an alpaca.
I'm going to join in on the egg theory.
