Week's Holiday! · 10:11pm Feb 12th, 2015
Hey, all. Just figured I'd give you all a progress report, since I really don't feel I do a good enough job of keeping you guys in the loop. It's been a busy month, and I've been involved in quite a bit personal drama recently, as well as a little on the site, too. On top of that, I've been struggling to get a lot of my work completed recently, given that my tutors were striking a couple of weeks back, so the homework assignments we received basically backlogged to a disgusting level.
Fortunately, that work is all out of the way now, and most of the aforementioned issues have been dealt with. Furthermore, college breaks up for a week's holiday tomorrow, so even if I'm unable to get the next ATF chapter out by the predicted deadline (15th), I should definitely have it up within the following few days.
As for me personally, I've been reading ATF's TVTropes page a lot recently. I don't know why, but I love the idea of being able to split my story down to its most basic elements, it... intrigues me. I do find myself wondering how TVTropes posting actually works though, so if anyone is able to explain the system to me I'd really appreciate it!
That's just about everything at its simplest so far. I'll try to keep you guys up to date if anything happens.
- Mike
It was TV Tropes that actually brought me to the story. I was looking at something else and found it. Must have read the entire thing up till the last chapter you had at the time published.
TVTropes is community edited. All you need is to make a name and the site bakes a cookie. You dont need an actual account. id give more detail but ill have to do it later when I have a proper keyboard. phones are hard to type with.
Edit: Okay, now I'm not on a phone. TVTropes is community edited - anyone can do it. You just type a username and password and the site bakes you a cookie. As long as you have that cookie, you'll be able to click edit and add stuff to pages.
"There is no such thing as notability."
This means that anything deserves a page if someone cares enough about it to make one. That's why your story has a page, and why I had to make my own story's page.
But, part of the reason why I made mine is that my own notes often take on a trope-like format - including the use of actual tropes. I just like being able to look at a list that, like you said, strips a story down to its most basic elements.
