    Life is a party.

    So, umm, hi all.

Long time no really speak. Just going to say O am back here as anonymous, I am going to try and find joy in my life again.

I have tagged Fragile Wings as a story, because it is kind of relevant to my life right now.

Not entirely, but enough to have made me remember this story I wrote some 9 years ago, I think.

Working on another fic at the same time...

Inspired by Shakespearicles Starlight Fixes Anything, I am working on an anthology style fic of my own:

As I am writing chapter 2...

I am starting to wonder if I should bump the maturity rating up to mature.

If it isn't mature, I am probably pushing the boundaries of it.

Something You Might Not Have Read Before - Dark Edition · 3:48am Jan 24th, 2015

Hey look, I am kind of keeping up with my promise to keep up with these things. Once a week though? Pffft! As if.

That turned out to be too much work.

So while I wait for Elite: Dangerous to finish downloading, I thought I better get this [time frame]'s SYMNHRB done.

Without further ado.

What Doesn't Kill You...
by Draconian Soul

As a new leader and higher up in the ranks of the alicorns, Twilight must be tested. She needs to be prepared to deal with the responsibilities of her duties as a princess. Not only in the term of protecting others, but in physical pain that she would potentially go through.

Or that's what Celestia keeps telling herself. Celestia constantly attempts to kill Twilight, bringing her back to life every time she stops breathing. Twilight doesn't understand. Why would her mentor put her through this? Why would she make her suffer like that? She claims it's to teach her how to deal with pain...

But is she really telling the truth, or does she need an outlet for the pain she suffered?

There's not much to say about this story that the story blurb doesn't already tell you, but I did enjoy this fic.

Sympathy For The Devil
by Bad_Seed_72
[Gore]

While locked away in Tartarus, Lord Tirek finds that his ultimate desire has been fulfilled.

Is this the first Bad_Seed_72 fic I have linked? I am not sure, I have a feeling I have linked some others before, but can't for the life of me remember what.

Anyway, while this story isn't tagged Dark, it does deserve an honourable mention in this blog post, as it certainly could have been tagged dark, in the spiralling into madness sense.

It was actually this fic that got me interested in Tirek as a character, which might be the reason why I am now looking forward to his MLP Fiendship is Magic micro.

Also, it turns out I don't have one of those fancy image tags for gore. Oops.

The True Villain
by The Princess Rarity
[Gore]

Not every family is perfect. Scootaloo knows that personally.

Now, I am not one for scootabuse, I tend to find it a cheap dig for feels, and a lot of the stories are extremely cliche (and usually prelude to a Rainbow Dash adoption fic). And with that line I have probably pissed off 90% of my followers, who all love a good scootadoption fic.

Though I probably already did that with SSOC.

Anyway, what The Princess Rarity has crafted here is a very real look into household domestic violence, and the horror that it creates. Her story behind Daring Do is a far more brilliant story than A.K. Yearling and Daring Don't (also note: the story does pre-date Daring Don't by two years, so don't expect it to be in line with S4 canon)

The reasoning behind Ahuizotl and the Daring Do series according to this story was a real punch in the gut, but also kind of beautiful in its own way.

Broken Belle
by LucidTech

Why does everyone have to be so fragile?

Of course sometimes broken things can be put back together.

Other times... Well... The world sweeps them up and tosses them in the trashcan.

This story is one of those stories I have a soft spot for. It is very vague about what has happened in the past, and all we know so far is that Sweetie Belle is a necromancer, and has been imprisoned for the past five years.

This line sold the fic for me:

“Three parts Nightshade, two parts arsenic in the creation of the catalyst and I would have completely forgone the poison oak.”

Lucidtech certainly seems to be taking their time with updating this one (the updates are about three months apart, and the last one was in November) but it certainly seems like a very promising fic.

Memento Mori
by Pale Horse

A dying Applejack is kept company by Twilight, but they receive a visitor who offers them an alternative they had yet to consider...

This is one of those fics where I can't tell whether it got more attention than it seems or not, because there was an audio adaptation done by the awesome ObabScribbler. And as seems the case with said fics, the likes go to ObabScribbler's youtube page, with very little click through to the original story.

So here is a lesson for all you readers out there: if you listen to an audio adaptation of a story on youtube… make sure you click through to the original author's story and give them some love too!

The Little Pink Pony
by AbsoluteAnonymous

Once upon a time there was a little pink pony who lived on a rock farm and wanted nothing more than to be happy.

What is a dark list without a story about best pony losing her fucking mind?

Obviously, like the Scootaloo story above, this was written before Season 4, so we have to throw what we know about Pinkie's past out the window.

Sadly I am going to have to call it there, as I have someone sitting on my lap, mashing the keyboard as her dad is trying to type.

Next edition will be a Sirens edition, as there have been a few good sirens stories out there that need some more attention.

Until next time, there was a farmer who had a moose and bingo was his nam…

GODDAMNIT TALI, STOP PLAYING THAT SONG!

Elite? Yesss, been playing since the Beta was out and have nearly +70 hours clocked into it. Doubt I'd be able to find you in the system, but keep your eyes on your six, Moose.

Ugh, I am still waiting on the download. And the launcher is buggy as shit (keeps crashing as I try to install), and currently downloading at 0.12mbps.

Saaaaay whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

2743501 Crashing while downloading? That's a bit odd. Here, found this quick, but probably outdated tidbit, though I'm not sure what kind of problem you're experiencing.

EDIT: found this too!

Yeah, there is some weird "solutions" out there. I am still trying to get through it.

2743512 Hmm... I'm sure you'll figure it out.

2743521
The prevailing suggestion seems to be wait for the second error message and leave it onscreen, the game downloads in the background.

2743524 The loopholes are very real, it seems. :ajsmug:

Lucidtech certainly seems to be taking their time with updating this one

Hint hint nudge nudge huh?

Just a little

Truth be told, I forgot that you followed me.
