Update 1/6/15 · 1:53pm Jan 6th, 2015
So, after another near-sleepless night, and three days of jaw and ear pain later, I found out I have a jaw disorder known as TMD (forgot the full name to it), and I'm pretty sure it's whats been keeping me up at night. I have no idea what caused it, but I'm desperate to get rid of it so I can sleep again.
Anyways, as you can probably tell, The Veins Run Deep had a very short chapter (the shortest so far) added to the story last night. Of course, I wrote it when I couldn't sleep. But, I have good news! There WILL be another chapter coming this week (probably another short one), then come next week, I won't be writing at all most likely due to finals. After that, I should be back in business. I have some more good (but also sad) news about The Veins Run Deep. After this coming chapter, there will be 11 more, plus the epilogue, leading up to 31 chapters in total when the story is done. I'm hoping that somewhere in the list of chapters I need to write, that a couple of them will at least be long ones to get the word count up. I will say, it is a bit of a disappointment to be 18 chapters in and only seeing 34K words, but I guess that comes with lack of ideas. Like I said, I'm hoping some of the future chapters are longer than the usual ones, only time will tell if the story even makes it past 60K words. I'm disappointed the story is coming to a close, but also relieved, meaning once it is done, which I believe it will be in February or March, depending on how often I write, I will be able to only work on Before the Dawn, and the short sequel that comes after it. Also, I am still looking for ideas for another one-shot story that won't spoil any future story ideas.
Also, it snowed like hell last night. So there's that.
I know exactly how ear and jaw pain is. Hurts like hell.
Can't wait for the next chapter. You are a great writer!
