My first novel is now released

Some of you might remember that I've been working on a novel for a while. After years of hard work, this novel, Opt Out, is now released. You can get it over at https://roryprice.net/store/ and pay what you want for it. You can even download it for free and later decide how much you think it's worth.

I'm back, and I have a new fic coming

    Hey guys.

I haven't been on Fimfiction in a while, and I'm sure a lot of you don't remember subscribing to me and will wonder who the hell I am as this blog post shows up. I've been away from the fandom for about two years, but I had another fanfic idea, and I figured I'd give it a shot.

A little update about my book

This is just a little update about what's going on with me. I already told you guys that I was working on a novel, and it's going very well. In fact, a publisher just showed interest in the project. Obviously, it's too early for me to give any details, but things are looking bright.

Thinking Back on A Dream of Sunny Days

I promised a retrospective for A Dream of Sunny Days, so here goes. It goes without saying that this will contain a ton of spoilers, so I suggest not reading this unless you read the whole story.

    All that's left is editing.

It took forever, but I got all the feedback I wanted for Sunny Days, and I rewrote everything the way I like it. Now, all that's left is to edit the remaining chapters, of which there are four left. (Plus a short epilogue) It might not look like much, but it's a pretty big milestone for me. I will try to release the chapters as fast as I can, but both the friend who helps me edit and I work full

Chapter 3 is now out · 10:58pm Jan 5th, 2015

Whew, chapter 3 is released. I've been looking forward to this one for a while, it was a lot of fun to write as I consider it to be the turning point chapter, where the pieces are in place and the real action can start.

Before we start, here's the story progress. I also have a little formula I made to get an idea of total fic completion.

Chapter 3: Just released
Chapter 4: I just sent it over to Derpypaws for editing, I don't think he had the chance to get started on it yet.
Chapter 5: It's currently being reworked with the help of my proofreader, Galrion.
Chapter 6: The first draft is done, I'm letting it sit for a while before I return to it.
Chapter 7: I'm about 2000 words into the first draft.
Total fic completion: 17.14%

Writing Rainbow Dash has proven to be one of the positive surprises of this fic. While I didn't care all that much for her in the past, she's now one of my favorite characters. I love the contrast between her and the other ponies. She's very action oriented and doesn't like to show her emotions. While she's usually an extravert, she does bottle up a lot of feelings and has a very interesting internal dialogue as a result, with her own prejudice often surfacing.

I often find myself asking what goes on inside the ponies head during an episode that's not centered around them. This is one of the big inspirations behind A Dream of Sunny Days, to give each pony the chance to face this crisis in her own way and see each pony's unique take on the situation.

Anyway, enough rambling, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter. The next one might take a bit longer, as I don't wanna pressure my editor into sacrificing quality for speed.

I hope you enjoy it. It's probably the one I had the most fun writing so far.
