Updates, and the lack thereof... · 12:11am Dec 8th, 2014
So, yes.
Yes, I know. I'm a terrible person and should probably be flogged, but let's hold off on the pitchforks for just a little while, shall we?
You've probably noticed that there has been a... distinct lack of activity from my side of the fic-o-sphere, for... ehr, a very long time now. There's a reason for that, if you care for one.
Since... well, the start of August I suppose, I've been out of work. My job, the company I helped create, hasn't exactly taken off, and we decided that I should be suspended. I'm not alone in that, about half of us, the non-vital ones, have been put out of work.
"But wouldn't that mean you have more time to write?"
Yeah, sure, free time. I've got a lot of that now, isn't it nice? No, not really. The intention was to return to work after a few months, but that didn't happen, and on all but paper I've been laid off. I've been paid the bare minimum to live by the government, which is nice, so at least I haven't had to starve.
The thing is, it kinda killed off my creative drive. I've tried to write, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Like a project I've been working on that's doing wonders for it. I can't really talk about it, because it's secret, but it's nice to have something to keep the the creative juices from completely drying up.
But yeah, that's the reason for the lack of updates. I should probably have written this blog earlier, and for that I apologize. Hopefully I'll be back at some sort of work by January. If not? Well, I'll just have to try harder to get a job.
I'll be available on here, since I haven't stopped reading your stories.. So if there's anything, just send me a pm, or put down a comment.
There you have it, best wishes and all that
-Sixpence
PS/Edit: No, no this doesn't mean I'm giving up on my stories! Jeez, I didn't mean it to sound like that D:
I'm in the same boat man, finding a job at this current time is pretty hard. I hope things get better for you soon though.
Good luck with finding a job, being a student i dont have to worry about that....for now
And i hope you'll get your mojo back in the near future, since i really enjoying your stories
Forcing yourself to write when you don't feel like it can kill your creativity, so it's best to just take a break for a while, go & do other things, & hopefully come back later refreshed.
If you do that but still don't feel in the mood to write, then one thing you can try (assuming you're not doing this already) is planning out later parts of your story that particularly appeal to you rather than the next chronological chapter. Doing so will hopefully be a pleasurable reminder of why you wanted to tell the story in the first place, & may inspire ideas for how all these story points connect together.
Yea, waiting sucks... but you haven't just dropped off the face of the site for no apparent reason, leaving us with nothing but impotent longing and an ever growing number next to the word 'weeks ago'. So I can handle a little waiting...
Hmmm... is the status quo still unchanged? It's been more than a year so I do hope that things have improved on all fronts for you.

Well, it got worse, then it got better, then it got worse again. Being a game developer is hard work. I haven't had the will to write, to be honest. All the "what happened" "where's the next chapter" comments all leave me feeling terribly guilty, because I kinda want to finish these things too.
But, Lab (Link), is helping me with that, so who knows. I won't make any promises, because that'll just end up with more guilt from me when it turns out I can't make it again, but I want to finish all these stories.

By Jove! So it is!
How go the things and stuffs?
I always loved your stories, Ill be always around when you drop new chapters :)
Fimfiction says you're still active on the site, so I believe you will see this.
Well, it's been six years since I last asked, but I think that's enough time. How is your current situation? Do you have any desire to return to your stories, or should they be flagged as "cancelled" instead of "hiatus"?
