So I says to myself, I says... · 12:52pm Dec 2nd, 2014
Twilight spun around, realising that while she had been distracted, Elusive had scooped up a measuring tape, sketch pad and pencils, and no small number of bolts of cloth - not to mention the look of divine inspiration and determination that Twilight recognised the consequences of in a heartbeat - after all, one of the fashionista's closest friends had effectively just walked into the store with a completely new body shape.
She slumped slightly. “I’m not leaving this shop without at least three new dresses, am I?”
The combination gleeful laugh and squeal she received was more than answer enough.
"Don't worry," said past Taranth. "Elusive's scene will be easy. You know exactly how it's going to go, you have since you started writing. It's not like it's going to be like Bubble Berry's scene, that's going to suck. Elusive should be a piece of cake."
Past Taranth is in dire need of a date with a cluebat.
DRESSES ARE HARD.
As it turns out, writing a character who specialises in both a social group and work that are completely unknown to me is actually kind of challenging! But such is pony.
So! The good news is, the chapter is actually almost finished. It is, in fact, already several hundred words longer than Butterscotch's chapter, which lets me keep my habit of each chapter being a good thousand or so words longer than the last. Which bodes ever so poorly for Bubble Berry's chapter. *shudder*
But, at present, it is exactly one heartfelt monologue, a mess of self-editing and cleaning, and a run past the editors away from release. It will be released by Christmas at the absolute latest, and if I can keep my progress of the last couple weeks up, significantly earlier than that.
Then one major character chapter, one chapter back to Spines, and the epilogue to go.
So, how's 2016 for you folks?
(Soon we get to see if I can get the likes for this story back over Little Deceptions...)
Oh dear...
So...it might've been a good idea for me to point out I'm an accomplished seamstress huh?
And that's why I stick to fantasy adventure, where I only get problems like thinking, when there's two paragraphs left of the climactic scene to write, "hey, wouldn't be it be cool if at this point the universe exploded and the heroine had to figure out how to reconstruct it using only the materials available and her own thoughts? Come on, do it!" And then I can't continue in any other way but that, and suddenly the chapter is another 4000 words long.
