What do you think of the story so far? Is there anything you don't particularly "get" about the storyline or such? I'm just trying to figure out issues that I can possibly address as I go further with NR, seeing as I only have three chapters left to go (and then the epilogue) before the story is finished.

I'm tracking it, but haven't started reading it yet. (Been burned by too many abandoned stories.) Glad to hear that it is near being finished, though! Seems like a great premise with a lot of promise.
I really like it. There's really not much else I can say...
All I know is that I've read the chapters so far apart from each other that I have to do a recap on the story whenever something's happening with it.

I am not complaining, and I'm sorry if I sounded like it. I had read your earlier post, and I feel with you. I rather say it, because, even if I follow other stories that update as infrequently or worse, Nightmare's Return suffers much more from it than most stories I could compare with it. With most stories I read the title, description and chapter titles (if there are any), and that helps me enough to remember what's going on, let's me dive right back into the story. That this doesn't happen with your story could be an indicator that indeed some facts and relations didn't come over as clearly as intended. It's no I-see-it-so-it-must-be though.

I really didn't have a concrete plan when I started NR. Not sure if I'd mentioned it, but NR was originally supposed to be a 20k-ish word oneshot story, but I decided to turn it into an ongoing story just for my own convenience. (I really don't have the patience to sit down and write 20k words in one or a few sittings. I'm surprised I was able to do In Nomine Equi, which was just under 8k words, in about five or six hours.) Because of that, I'm having to make it up as I go along, and apparently I'm having serious problems with plot pacing.
Tl;dr I suck at writing. Lol
