It's a hard life being a writer. Really. · 1:44am Nov 25th, 2014
Me: Alright, several things to try and juggle here. First things first, I'm committed to that new time travel story I've planned out. Twilight and future-assassins and comedy romps all round. Maybe I'll even come with a title for it before the next glacial aeon, once I can get the opening chapter the way I want it. Something's just not clicking in it just now.
My Scumbag Brain: Mm hmm.
Me: I'll see if I can't work my way through that as quickly as I can while it's got my attention. The Devil's Details needs its new chapter sequences. Fun, and by fun, I mean 'horrible things happen to the protagonists while I laugh' things happen there. It's all planned. I have plans, honest.
My Scumbag Brain: I believe you.
Me: And I've promised that Moonlight Palaver sequel as well. I've got the broad strokes down, but it's the wee stuff that makes the difference. Keep the old, comfortably-sized cast, or mix in new folk? Which new folk, if so? How much madcapness befitting Discord can sit nicely amidst all the dry snark and rising tensions? These things take thought, you know. People seemed to like the original, and there might be those nasty expectations things riding on me.
My Scumbag Brain: No mean schedule.
Me: Indeed.
My Scumbag Brain: You know what you need?
Me: What?
My Scumbag Brain: A new story idea for a dark oneshot. Fun themes and symbols and characters for all the family contained therein! Certain beloved characters kicking all manner of flank! Plots and conclaves and war and action and -!
Me: ...FUUUUUUUU-
So. Yeah. Aaargh. Expect the latter followed by the earlier options some time this epoch. I might even write a blog absent any script format then as well. A man can dream.
Your scumbag brain isn't telling you to go look at pictures of
catsSunset Shimmer and/or play every video game imaginable? What kind of scumbag brain do you have? I feel like you got ripped-off.

Sir, I would like to propose a scumbag brain-swap. Name your price. Anything within or just teetering on the edge of reason.

"Pain, show us on the doll where the man felt you."
An octopus-like number of limbs and the ability to properly split attention. That's what we need.
Hm, On the other hand, surely it would suck to have no inspiration whatsoever?

There's a silver lining, I suppose.
2616026 Also the fact that I suspect folks will be delighted to hear you're writing. I know I am.
