A comment on my previous blog reminded me that I didn't update here yet, but it still won't be horribly long.

    I Live!

But I’m on a buttload of drugs and am going to pass out.

Surgery went great, even better than expected. I’ll elaborate more later.

    Until next time!

And Back In We Go · 2:49am Nov 20th, 2014

Heya guys.

So I'm currently sitting here in the hospital getting my final round of chemotherapy before the transplant process begins on December 10th (yes, a definitive date now!). Only one of the lumens is hooked up at the moment, but they'll use one more shortly. I think the third one will remain unused this time around, but they'll definitely need it for the transplant. Anyway...

That shot actually IS me, chillin' in my hospital bed until I feel like going to sleep (Which might be soon, when the co-op Benadryl starts to kick in. Eat your heart out, Charlie!). The bandage above the dressing is where they inserted the catheter, and it's a pretty sizable hole. Fun. I tried to get my head out of the way so you could see the awesome scar from my heart transplant 18 years ago. Hopefully you guys can all see it.

I'm still feeling pretty wiped out right now. It's probably a side effect of cumulous (you can see how whacked out I was when I wrote this— I meant 'cumulative') numbers of chemo rounds and the Benadryl. Despite that, I still hope to get a little writing and/or editing done over the next few days while I'm admitted. If I don't feel like it, well... here I come, Game Show Network!

Aside from Crimson, my collab with Anonymoose, and my little side story, I'm hoping I'll get to editing Topaz Moon's Protocol D, which was updated a short while ago, and even made it into the Featured box for a short amount of time! I'm really running behind on that. Seven chapters published, but only three edited. And yes, I know there have been others helping with that editing, but when I accept an editing job, I do the job thoroughly.

I'm also hoping I might be able to get over to Anonymoose's Floret, which had the rest of its chapters published pre-editing because of IRL circumstances, and make some progress (if not finish) with that one.

However, if anyone has a quick one-shot they'd like me to look at, I might be able to help (see my updated Editing Services box— the gist: no more charging). I'll let you know if I can't do it if anyone contacts me.

Okay, I think the Benadryl is starting to kick in, so I'm gonna leave for now. I'm very thankful for the well-wishes people have been sending me, so if any of you feel obliged to send me a quick message or something, I'd be thrilled to hear from you, and you're welcome to ask any questions you might have. At this point, I feel like I've had more experience than my nurses, but based on the paperwork they have to do, I do not envy them ONE bit.

I'll update you again when I can/feel like it. Have a good weekend, Everyone, 'cause I'm gonna be stuck in here.

I don't see sparkles and tassels on the hookups!!!!

Its all good, you will get to them eventually.

As for the featured box, it actually made it there 2 times since I updated.
Once, with the mature filter turned off from 7:51pm to 8:45pm before it fell off. Then its back on there again, but with the mature filter on this time from 9:43pm (when I happened to be on the main page) to the current time of 9:58pm.

Oh, almost forgot... I still think you need a picture of Luna on top of the Death Star. with that quote of, "This is not my moon!" that you came up with.

That's what you were talking about, right?

Also, good luck, Josh, we're keeping you in our thoughts!

No, he was supposed to put sparkles and tassels on the catheter thingy. But, in a way that would not mess them up, or make it so the doctors could not use them.

2606042
So I pastied his nipple for nothing?

2606043
Yuppers, other than he might get a laugh out of it when he sees it later.

If I am bored tonight and star wars does not interest me, I might end up animating it for him to Dead or Alive's You Spin Me Round.

I'll bet most ppl see that and are like "ow, that's painful."

No, it's worse. It's annoying.

Seriously, you can't even roll over in bed without the tubes getting all tangled. I'd be ripping them out every hour. I think the nurses would sedate me just so they wouldn't have to fix it.

*sigh* Here I am being all depressing, sorry. I hope you feel better soon; I'm gonna stick around either way.

:rainbowlaugh: Well, you guys definitely got that laugh outta me. At 2:30am, too (which I know is a time I'm usually awake for anyway, but given that I got drugs that made me fall asleep early, kinda does make a difference)...

2606311
Oh yeah, you better believe it's annoying. :ajbemused: Especially since I'm so used to sleeping on my right side, which I can't now (the nature of the camera caused the pic to do a symmetrical flip so it looks like the catheter is on my left side, but it IS on my right...). Aside from that, the dried blood around the insertion point (which, I think, you guys luckily can't see) makes the damn thing itch, and the fact that it tunnels right underneath my skin (which you probably CAN see if you look hard enough) just makes it plain uncomfortable. That, and the nurses waking me up multiple times over the course of the night to check vital signs make it impossible to get a good night's sleep. :pinkiesick: *Sigh* Only a few days. Only a few days...
