Concerning the next chapters (And edits to the last) · 5:10am Nov 14th, 2014
Howdy howdy. A bit late at night here, but I'm sorta busy at the moment soooo... whenever I can, I suppose.
So, quick status update; Chapter 15 IS done and is currently being edited by my lovely editor. It's 50 pages long, being the longest chapter to date, so it's going to take awhile. As I've said before, I wish to post it up alongside 16... but school is currently preventing me from getting any serious work done on said chapter. I'm debating simply putting up 15 this weekend once it's done being edited, but if I do I'm going to feel like I'm cheating you all later on with the much smaller chapter 16. The rest of the chapters after 16 are going to all come out on the same date, for sure, but having one small update inbetween two large ones... What do you guys think? Next two have cliffhangers; should I post up only 15, or should I wait another week for when I can give you 16 at the same time?
Now, that out of the way, I have an announcement; like chapter 2 before it, chapter 14 now as the words *FIXED* next to it's chapter title. I have changed one minor detail about the most hated chapter in the hopes of making it less hated. I DIDN'T TOUCH THE MAJOR DIALOGUE!! Just getting that out of the way right now. I DIDN'T do anything that would require a reread. All I did.... was change how Smarty Pants got ripped. I changed it to something in better taste. A non-brony friend of mine suggested this change for me when I described for him the situation and, after thinking about it for a bit, I am now kicking myself for not having thought of this before hand. You can reread that bit now if you want, but to summarize what I did; instead of Mac ripping it, he allowed Winona to play with it. Changing a few lines allowed me to keep the joke mostly the same as well as the outcome. I'm not going to make anymore changes like that for the rest of this fic; I'm pretty darn sure I've learned my lesson and won't NEED to do any such edits for now on... (crosses fingers... hooves... claws... whateves)

Looking forward to seeing it! Also, never really thought twice about the Smarty Pants thing, though the edit seems to make sense and sounds actually better in hindsight. Yay hindsight, almost always 20/20

Goodness ain't that the truth. Wish I thought of this three freaking weeks ago when I first posted it. Probably would have saved me from some headaches in the long run... not all of them mind you; this is still the internet after all... but it would have saved me from at least SOME of them X_X
I agree with Lazy; 50 pages is freakin' huge! That should be roughly, what, 20-25K words? On top of an already 41K story. (That estimate based on the 44 page 17K word story I just got done editing.)
Yeah, no, you release that beast on its own, I think your readership will appreciate a shorter read after. Besides we're already gone 2 weeks, man, we need our fix!
And, honestly, it's the quality of the work that we care about, not the quantity. (Not that this story is lacking in either department)
Oh, and nice call on chapter 14 edit. Way less creepy that way and still gets the point across.

Heh, thanks; although, again, I really wish I hadn't decided to go full on dirty originally...
... Maybe my brain needed to go to a happier and sillier place after the literal hell I dragged it through writing the prior serious dialogue
Anyways, that's one vote for upload then! It's about 10K words long from the last time I checked it (number subject to either go up or down depending on my editor's say) so maybe you're right; one long, followed by a more manageable portioned smaller one, followed by the much, much longer grand finale might just be the way to go

10K huh? Certainly more manageable in a single read. Still, a long read, no question. Surprised you got it to 50 pages. Must be a lot of sparse, spaced out dialogue in it, which I can see based on the direction it was going.

Anyways, with nightwalker on this one, happily anticipating the next installment.
It's amazing how many pages even 'small' chapters will take up.
I approve of Macintosh not being creepy-lonely with Smarty Pants... I am too far in sympathy for him to be disgusted with him for it, but it was a little off-putting.
Oh! And as far as when you update: If there's a pretty good chance that you can get them out once each week, then I wouldn't mind another week long cliffhanger... but if you expect having problems, maybe wait until the chances are slimmer that it'll take too long.
