A Questioning Mind.... · 3:31am Nov 6th, 2014

As she pulled into the parking lot of the Equestria County Alternative High School for At-Risk Students, Celestia grunted as she parked the district-issued 2007 Toyota Corolla into the staff space, thinking about how much she hated driving this thing and how it handled, well, like the clunky piece of crap it was. Admittedly, she would have much preferred to drive her baby, but parking a pristinely-kept 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GK FL2 in the middle of Sunnytown was tantamount to painting “HEY BREAK IN AND STEAL THIS CAR!” on the sides. Besides, as the assistant superintendent for the summer school program, she had to look professional, and though she tended to be a bit more impish than most of her peers, even she had her limits.

As she parked, a well-dressed gentleman with dark skin, a trim haircut, and soul patch came out of the featureless, blandly-gray building. Like her, he had a reputation for being unconventional, all the more so for his job as the principal of “The Blanks”, which unlike all the other schools, ran year-round. At the moment, he was wearing a black suit, gray shirt and a black tie that changed to a red gradient towards the end. “Ah, Superintendent Celestia, what a pleasure to see you!” he said in a growly, bassy voice that didn’t seem to fit his lithe frame.

“Dr. Sombra,” she said, flashing a smile. “You didn’t need to come out here to see me.”

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't Celestia suppose to be a Principal of Canterlot High. As far as I know, a superintendent is in charge of the school District, not one school (As Human!Luna is stated to be only a Vice-Pricipal and Human!Celestia is called Principal Celestia in EQG and Both "Seven days in Sunny June" stories). Did she get a promotion before summer school started or is that just a slip up?

Sombra's a professor?

She's assistant superintendent only for summer school, not a permanent promotion.

Well this should be interesting.

Besides, it even says it in the text:

I can bet.

I wonder if this Sombra is more like Canon Sombra or the Good King Sombra from the IDW comics.

:facehoof: Well, do understand one thing. I have very bad eye sight, and even with glasses I also tend to miss somethings ( I do three reading before commenting on anything to be safe, and I still screw up on somethings. Just take a look at my stories to see my point, as I still think I screwed up explaining things and my phrasing is terrible. But enough of me plugging my own crappy stories.)

Anyway, confusion aside, I still can't wait for your next AAG story Shin, and/or the next (final?, you guys weren't clear on that) book in the "Seven days in sunny June" series.

These are interesting images that you include with the synopsis of alot of your stories...

Oooh dear. That sounds interesting....

Dr. Sombra eh..... This will be interesting to see. Is he a good doctor, evil doctor, mad doctor......Dr. Evil?

(Dang it can't find a Sombra image in the right pose for that last one, someone should fix that)

Really curious to see how this plays out.

I just noticed something about this.

district-issued 2007 Toyota Corolla

I think the "Buy America" guidelines means that the Equestria County School District can only buy American cars, not Toyotas. Maybe they could give Celestia something like a fourth-gen Ford Taurus, or a Chevy Impala.

Well, for starters, the Buy American Guidelines only apply to federal agencies, not state or local (as the district would be in the third category.) Additionally, even if that were the case, waivers are allowed if the car meets 60% or more US steel (which US-built Toyotas do) and there is a compelling advantage for the agency (as government/fleet discounts would be.)

Further checking indicates that California does not have anything like the BAG, though it is recommended that they buy American when they can. Obviously someone at the GECUSD was asleep at the wheel or anything.

Not that Celestia's going to bring this up; she has a Korean sports car.
