Is anyone else having problems with this? · 3:02am Jun 19th, 2012
I've been trying to attach a cover image to "So, Just What Went Wrong, Anyway?" for nearly three days now, and my efforts still keep turning up the same error message. It can't be because FIMFiction's programming is off, because other new stories have been posted with graphics since then. It can't be because I'm trying to upload .png files, because I've successfully uploaded them in the past.
I've tried to contact the mods, but so far, I haven't heard back from them. (Does anyone know what method I'm supopsed to use to do this?)
try downloading the file onto your computer, then uploading it off your computer?
it worked for me
I added a picture just two days ago, so it was working fine for me.
Been having the same issue for a while. In the meantime, just upload from your computer and save the headache.
182386 182391 That's what I've been trying to do. When that didn't work, I tried it from the URL. Neither is working.

I have no idea then
Maybe it has something to do with the size of the picture.
That's my best guess.
Try coppying the pic, open it in Paint. Make a non existant edit and save it as a new pic, then upload that pic.
182419 Didn't work. Couldn't open a .png file in Paint.
Finally! I found a website that let me convert the .png to a .jpg, and that uploaded just fine.

Cool.
now time to see said picture
It most likely was the fault of the .png image. There are at least twelve different ways of encoding .pngs with varying levels of compression and color quality, format, bit start and stop, and color space. If you would really like to keep it as a .png (IE; loss-less), then just post a link to the image, and I'll see about converting it.
184598 Nah, that's okay. I think it looks fine as-is.
