Proof that I'm not dead. I was just in a slumber, waiting for reason to rise again. I might have found that reason.

Thankfully Not Micheal Bay (MLP FIM the Movie Discussion) · 12:06am Oct 21st, 2014

INB4 this is the next "The Last Airbender" movie :rainbowlaugh:

The FIM Movie Discussion

There was a time when people thought that the only movie that would be made was of radioactive, Doug-like human characters. Today, we have news...that a motion picture will be made. I wonder how many of you have soiled yourselves. If you have...please go change before you come here, that's just embarrassing.

Now that you're back with a new pair of pants, I just want to say that this news comes as a bit of news during the drought of actual content for the show other than that stupid EQG nonsense (no I have not seen the sequel and I don't intend on it. Regardless if it is slightly better, I think there are other movies that are worth wasting my time with. Maybe if I'm too bored and have literally nothing better to do). Apparently this is actually going to be a full length movie scheduled for 2017 release. Now despite me wanting the series to end in a timely fashion and not be overly milked allowing it to end positively instead of rotting, I think a movie might be nice as long as they get the right screenwriter in on it. So, the guy they have writing is...

Joe Ballarini (Ice Age: Continental Drift) is on scriptwriting duty for this movie

....Well that's alright. I mean this guy has a good track record. I mean, who doesn't love such movies as the classic Ice Age: Continental Drift, Dance of the Dead, and the most beloved film... Father v. Son. Okay the screenwriter isn't exactly the best for the job but who knows, he "might" do a good job. Even Merriwether wrote a decent episode at one point. Keyword decent. I'm not gonna comment on Meghan's involvement cause I tend to have an unpopular opinion when discussing her and her involvement in stuff, as well as overhyping things that aren't exactly that good, but I digress.

The idea of FIM being on the big screen has been a long awaited dream for most fans of the show, and this could be the ultimate love letter to the people if they treat it well. But what would the movie be about, other than just the obvious, friendship overpowering all with it's big care bear-ish stare. What I would like to see is a situation involving characters other than ponies as the central glue. Like, let's say something from the zebra pride land or something like that end up becoming a central antagonist through some means.

"Since this pony is not our ally, I declare we let her die."

How about a global war against a different nation. I mean the idea of war is not foreign, it is a concept that was brought up by past Twilight to future Twilight. I think it's highly possible that could happen. Just have ponies throwing sprinkles on top of each other and watch them melt. Cause if you're gonna put it on the big screen, you can't be something that you'd see on tv. You have to up the anty when it comes down to it.

You could also just make a movie with nothing but Discord jerking off and being a dick, and I'm sure people would see it anyways. Just have Celestia walk on in and receive an anvil to the head as she opens the door. You could also make it a 3d film co-directed by Micheal Bay, which would contradict the title of this blog but you know, wouldn't be the first time I joked about something and it became true. Yogi Bear the Movie...I'm looking at you.

The one thing I hope they do in this movie however, is to actually try with it, and not make it some shitty marketing ploy, cause you usually don't get a good film out of stuff that's just pure marketing. Ask Transformers 4; it was terrible. No amount of shoving Rainbow Dash in our faces will hide the fact that you are a shitty shitty movie.

And that's all I got. I will probably do a way that this movie could not suck relatively soon just for the fun of it, and I made this to spark some discussion and to also let you guys know...I'm not dead. But what would you want to see in the movie? Twilight's ultimate struggle? Spike centric? RD as a Wonderbolt? Some epic journey akin to the comics? Rarity getting her alicorn wings...pffft :raritywink:. Let your ideas fly, speak out what you wanna see, and I'll look forward to the discussions. See ya.

Also, just to make sure that no one thinks I'm bullshitting, here's the source link if you click this sentence.

Zecora: I will never follow your path of slaughter, for you are the one who killed my father.
Zebra: No child. I am your father.
Zecora: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
10/10. Would buy movie ticket.

People keep screaming and whining that Megan McCarthy isn't writing the movie. Um... did you happen to see the last two movies she wrote? Look, she's a damn good TV writer... but it took her four seasons to learn how to write a two part episode of TV.

"But the pilot—"

Was Lauren Faust.

"B-But Return of Harmony—"

was M.A. Larson. McCarthy didn't get her two-parter shit together until Princess Twilight Sparkle. Writing a movie is way different from writing a TV show. I'm glad they brought in someone with a bit more experience.

Granted, that experience was shit movies, but still...

I agree that a war [say, the ponies versus the gryphons, or versus the dragons (with Spike as an ambassador?)] would be an awesome concept, but too 'adult' for the intended demographic. Granted, by 2017, the intended demographic could potentially be all Bronies, but for now, they'll probably need to go with something more kid-friendly. However, including a large number of another race, like when they brought in the gryphon nation for the Equestria games, would be a good idea.

I am absolutely so not excited for this unless it focuses on Spike.

Zecora is, undoubtedly, the best rhyme-tastic "Chosen One" in all existence.

I am in agreement; 10/10, would buy movie ticket.

Oh, and movie- I just hope they don't screw it up...
But I reserve judgement.

P.S. for some reason, Auto correct put rhyme-tastic as rhyme-gastric....
That's hilarious.

You know, there's a reason I respect you you magnificent bastard :moustache:

They killed off a character and tried to make the finale of season 4 epic with action. As long as the war isn't too brutal then I can see them pulling it off. You'd be surprised what a "girl show" can get away with (at least back then)

No.

Come back to me when better movies aren't available that I haven't seen (proceeds to watch The Wind Rises and HTTYD 2)

Hayoi Miyazaki is one of the best animation directors I know and even if I saw HTTYD 2, I'd watch it again over what monstrosity was just released :unsuresweetie:

Don't even bother watching EQG2: it's basically the same shitty movie as EQG1. Down to the resolution of the main conflict. The music is flat, villians are boring, jokes are not funny at all. I hope the actual pony movie will be better.

3 years later, turns out to be the Royal Sisters get easily taken out and humiliated infront of everyone in Equestria by some invading military force.
And a bunch of other stuff too.
