Okay everyone, here's the situation.
As you may remember, I did announce that my partner SCI finally had his computer back and that he told me that he would have the next chapter for me soon. This was almost four weeks ago now.
At first, my attitude was to wait for him to get in touch. I've figured he must be very busy with college work to be kept from writing. That and I did feel it wouldn't really be... right to continue without him. After all, we're in this together now.
But in these four weeks, I've had practically no word from him. No messages on his email, our shared Google document for stories, on FF, on FiM or on Skype. Again, I can only assume he must be very busy with his work at college. I for one know how hard that can be. But considering how long it's been, I'm beginning to think of at least trying to move things along.
Now, this does mean skipping the next chapter which would be Apple Family Reunion. Since I've given that to him to write on his own, I have no idea how he wants that to end and figure I can wait for it. But the next chapter is based for Nightmare Night. Since it's the month of October, I'm hankerin' for an update on this one.
So, ultimate question: should I wait for Sci to get in touch, post the next chapter and wait OR should I skip Reunion for now, update details when Sci eventually gets back to me and carry on as best I can?
The choice is mine, in the end. But I want to hear what you all think. It has been a very long time since any kind of updates and as my readers, you have as much say as anyone.

I understand the arguments for both sides. One it has been a while since you have heard from him, but he's in college so that makes things difficult for him.
He is writing the next chapter, which means that you don't know where it is going to end off, but your next idea is for another Nightmare night and it is October right now.
My suggestion is the following, start writing the Nightmare Night chapter, and try to get in contact with him. Try to explain the situation, from there, if he can bring out the next chapter before you finish your's then publish his and then correct yours. If you haven't heard from him by the last week of October, publish your chapter and when he is read you can make a few corrects in your chapter to allow his to come before. This is just my idea. What happens is up to you. Good luck and I hope your partner contacts you soon.
Personally, I think you should go for it. No disrespect to SCI.
I think you can totally work in a Nightmare night chapter before Apple Family Reunion. Not sure what you guys had planned prior to his disappearance, but you've always been good at working around these things if it was necessary.
In the end it's your choice, but don't think that moving on would be such a bad idea.
I'm inclined to agree with 2536438. In short: Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
I'm sure SCI wouldn't mind. Just make and post the Nightmare Night chapter and post his afterwards if he comes around from being busy with school, and I hope he does btw. I know how hard college can be and how much time it takes up so just assume he's having issues with the chapter. This is my honest opinion. You can just slide the Reunion in later, we'll understand especially now.
I'd prefer to wait, even if I'm anxious to see the next chapter. Besides, it doesn't feel right knowing that the story isn't complete without the chapter. What kind of reader would I be if I constantly demand the updates? A good and pacing writer and a good and patient reader will make a successful story. But I won't hold it against you if you decide to do the latter. I'll support in whatever the decision is. (as long as it doesn't involve cancellation. Lol.)
Alpha, I really don't know about this. I'm genuinely worried that something might've happened tp Sci, as he hasn't responded to any of our attempts ro contact him. I'd like to wait, but again there are readers to please.
My ultimate conclusion and suggestion is to post a new chapter, but tentatively so. Sci still has a hand in this, so give him as much flexibility as possible.
I'll try emailing him again, but I'm honestly not expecting a response.
Whatever you feel would be best man. If you feel that you absolutely cannot work without Sci, we can wait. I don't know about the others, but for me, I would never suggest letting quality go for a fast update, in my work or those I follow. But I'll trust you to make the right choice, cuz what do I know anyways?
