Update (Still Doing Science, Still Alive) · 9:00am Oct 13th, 2014
For those curious, yes I have actually been able to get some writing done on the next chapter of Heart of Loyalty. It's going to be a respectably sized chapter as well, as it is already sitting at 6900 words. I finished writing all the Twilight scenes, and there's certainly enough to publish as a chapter on its own, but there were a few other concurrent plot threads I wanted to work on, and it would look dumb if I shove all that into a later chapter and have to jump back in time for them.
Likely won't be getting a lot of writing done in the next two weeks though, as I'm getting ready to get on a plane on the 16th and fly to Vancouver for a Geology conference where I'll be presenting some preliminary data from my thesis work. If you fall into the hyper-specific demographic of readers who are also interested in paleoclimatology/lake sediments and happen to be attending the GSA 2014 annual meeting in Vancouver, feel free to drop by and say hi. Here's a link to the posted abstract info. Science!
Hey, does it take anything to get in? Like, a degree or a pass or something? 'Cause if not, expect someone there on my behalf!
I think you do have to register for it. Don't know how registration at the door works. It's $40 for highschool students, $85-110 for students depending if you're a member or not, and a lot more otherwise. Prices. Yeah, it's pretty steep.
