I Started a Blog! (A real one) · 8:42am Jun 5th, 2018
So, after many years of people telling me I should do so, I've finally started a proper blog (only about 10 - 13 years late to the bandwagon). And yes, I mean an actual blog external to what you're reading on this site now. On Wordpress and everything.
It's called "Science, Politics, and Ponies". I hope the title is pretty self-explanatory. If not, it's a mix of three things.
1. Informative and educational explanations of cool bits of science, as well as pulling apart pseudoscience and the most common ways to lie with graphs and statistics.
2. My leftist political rants. My political leanings vary based on mood (and mostly how hungry I am) from reform minded Social Democrat, to Revolutionary Marxist, to guillotine happy Jacobin. Expect commentary on how everything you believe about the world is the product of Cold War geopolitical policy and/or weird quirks of history.
3. Over-analyzing MLP, as well as Star Wars, Star Trek, and whatever other bit of pop-culture comes to mind.
Expect the above three to blend once in a while. Like how Starlight Glimmer isn't actually a communist at all, but the meme of such owes its popularity to decades of highly successful American propaganda, and also I really want a fanfic about "actual communist Starlight Glimmer" fighting to overthrow the monarchy ("quadrarchy", whatever, everyone knows Celestia holds all the power) and the rest of the Canterlot nobility with her subversive ideas of "equality" and "government by the people" and "equal rights for donkeys, cows, and other non-ponies".
