I just recently started to write stories directly towards the FiM actively, though I have been writing for years, publishing numerous stories at Mibba and the eventual pony story, as far as to the MLP

Spike and Rarity, or Spike's Harem: (Story Suplements / Head Canon Included) · 4:01pm Oct 6th, 2014

Spike's relations have been plagued with a few problem in Canon.
From the fact that Spike seems to have no friends of his own, outside of the mane six and possibly the Cutimark Crusaders, to the small deil of his age and him being a dragon.

If I set my story in the "A spiked Hologram"-verse, I can easily solve these problems without sacrificing the characteristics of Either Spike, Rarity or any other of the Canon Characters. So long as I keep their character matrix intact, the story should be relevant to all fans, as far as I could see, even if there may be some begging to differ?

If the characters are Anthro, the specis dilema should be solved, right?
In this setting, I could age up Spike to Rarity's age, which should take care of the age difference problem.
Since Both Spike and Rarity comes together, without outside interfearence, I hope to clear yet other problems.

Knowing Spike had openly shown affection and deeper feelings for Rarity on numerous occations throughout most if not the entire show, to date of the end of season 4. If I take the moment of Rarity asking for the Blood Ruby, which Spike did give her fairly freely, even if you may argue that Rarity did manipulate him into doing so.

This far, Gems comes in 2 general forms, either the pyramidal, or the flat hexagonal veriety. Yet, Spike had managed to make this one Ruby become the form of a Heart. Why, if not for an emotional reason. Was he secretly preparing to give his heart away in a more Emotional fasion, while making it into a physical gesture at the same time? In this case, it means that Rarity asked him to love her, when she asked him to give the Ruby to her. She never gave the ruby away, but has demonstratively treasured it to this day. At a later point, it even was the key to his heart, thus bringing him back to his old self.

Who would Spike be, if he wasn't an assistant, either to Rarity or Twilight sparkle, the role he commonly does play, one way or the other. Even at the event at the Crystal Empire, when he helped Twilight bring the Crystal Heart down to the awaiting seremony. From this, it would seem he is a fairly selfless character who doesn't mind risking or sacrificing himself, even if he eventualy was rewarded for this particular act.

Looking back at Rarity, it has been started again and again, several times over, it is the Generosity that take her, more tham the creating of fashionable suits.
There is the aspect of her mothering her (Sister/Daughter) throughout most if not all of the show. This is the place she has amongst her friends as well.
