Hey all you Smashers! · 8:50pm Oct 4th, 2014
I've been playing a crap ton of the new Super Smash Bros. And I have to say so far I believe it to be one of the best smashes in total. The combat is fluid, and the online is super good. I love going online to fight in for glory mode, it's super awesome.
How do you guys like the game so far? Any characters you enjoy using greatly? Here are some of my favs in no particular order:
1. Bowser
King of the Koopas, he's recieved an amazing power and speed boost that's definitely re worked his character for the better. I can accomplish a lot with him.
2. King DeDeDe
My boy from Brawl, he's just as good here as he was in there, with an amazing new side b, and a killer new final smash.
3. Lucinia
A pretty decent new addition to the roster, she's a Marth clone no doubt, but she's more powerful overall due to less of a pricing game with her sword which is great for me cause I never used the tip of the sword.
4. Little Mac
The kind of the ring, his ground game is super sick! He's a super heavy hitter, and crazy strong too! My only complaint is that his recovery and air game is abysmal. >_<
After some experimenting i've found my main three to be
1. Fox
Pros: Super speedy, nimble, and swift. Can land three times the blows of most opponents in a match and can really dish out some pain when used aggressively.
Cons: Light, low defense, and power. You have to rely on speed to keep you alive cause don't expect him to stay on the screen past 85% He also lacks finishing power, meaning most enemies have to be 120% or higher to knock off the screen.
2. Mii Brawler
pros: i was NOT expecting the mii's to work so well in smash bros Fully customizable. Mine specifically is like Fox, with a little less speed and a little more power. The standard attack moveset is conveniently good towards my preferred aggressive fighting style (except the midair up A is absurdly weak.)
Cons: my configuration sacrifices a little defense, so again i find myself relying on speed again to stay alive. Also, the side smash attack, the big punch, has about a full second delay after use, leaving em wide open for attack if i miss.
3. Lucario
Pros: unique and flexible moves. Balanced in power speed and defense, and super floaty for misdirection. He doesn't fit my aggressive style as well, but allows me to switch it up against opponents who are good at defending against aggressive tactics (damn you and your counter's connor)
Cons: a little slow for my tastes. Also lacks finishing power, at least with quicker moves. Some of Lucario's strong moves have a slight delay before following through. His movements also telegraph so if you know his set well, its easy to block or dodge.
Gonna try to find a fourth as well
2514209 Try Little Mac, he's addicting!!

i have
but as you know from playing against me, i take to the air VERY often. Mac is loads of fun, but his lack of any aerial ability at all kinda kills it for me if im playing seriously.
During fun matches though yeah i love using him
2514403 You know Lucario does more damage the more damage he takes right?
And I love most of the characters in the roster. King DeDeDe has stuff too, you may enjoy him. I don't think you'd like Duck Hunt Dog, I love him, but he's a lame character in the sense you gotta lame a fight out.

yeah im aware, but thats part of the con, if you knock your opponent around without taking much damage, the strong attacks lack finishing power.
i'm actually really bad with super heavy hitters xD i love playing as boweser, but im really bad at timing his attacks. Same goes with dedede. I am however, pretty good with Ike (at least in brawl) despite that fact, i might give him a try since that will give me a power character in my arsenal.
