An Explanation For My Absence

Okay, so I'm back. I've actually been back for quite a few weeks now, but I've literally had my hands full with Uni. For those of you uninterested in my life, and more interested in my stories, I'll post another blog in a little while for you guys.

So I moved into my university accommodation a couple of weeks ago and I've started my Computer Science course. Since arriving, I've done little but party most nights, get outrageously inebriated, and spend most mornings and afternoons asleep. Between lectures and lessons, I've been juggling the societies I've joined (most people join a few, I've signed up for well over fifteen. Lord knows if I'll pursue half of them). I literally have no free time on my hands. Right now, the only reason I'm available to write this is because I declined going out tonight in the vain hope I might finish the next chapter of About Last Night.

I'm really enjoying myself, though. I don't think I've ever been this happy. I've met so many new and interesting people. I've just got back from a tea drinking society (That's right, we have a tea drinking society here!), where I met so many awesome people, and they all liked the brownies I made! I'm going to have to try and top myself and make cookies next week.

What's more is that the club I'm going out to tomorrow has Hodor for the DJ. Yes, Hodor from Game of Thrones!

I've been fangirling all week. I can't wait! I've stocked up on so much alcohol that my fridge is now more alcohol than food (the way it should be). I'm going to be absolutely hammered tomorrow (best ignore all skype calls from me tomorrow night). Hopefully it'll be a night to remember.

Onwards and Upwards: my writing schedule has been a mess. I've got very little writing done. What writing I have got done I've typed up and then stared at. I sent it to a prereader at one point, who effectively said it needs a little work. I'll admit I've not really had time for staring at it recently. I have a day off tomorrow, though, so I might see if I can squeeze a little writing in between my shopping spree and the pre drink party. Who knows, perhaps I'll actually write a paragraph or two?

I certainly question my writing schedule for the foreseeable future, anyway. I'm finding it difficult to effectively judge when I'm actually going to have time to write, and when I'm going to be too drunk to even speak properly, let alone write properly. I'll talk about my writing plans in the next blog, anyway. I think it's about time I cleared a few things up that I've left in the air.

The important is to be enjoying yourself old chap. Hobbies are hobbies, and you're living something unique right now. It's your duty to enjoy to its fullest.

Uni takes some getting used to. You'll find some months you're completely swamped, and others you're just sitting around. You'll find your own schedule eventually. Just make sure you're getting enough sleep.
