    A Small Update

Just a small little post here to assure people that I'm not dead.

I haven't been able to write anything for shit lately in far too long, but as the situation drags on, I'm starting to understand why it's so hard for me to just...sit down and write some.

    Small Rant.

Nothing to do with EWM at this time, sorry. Though I have officially begun writing it. Not far in yet though. Be patient.

Anyways, I'm...kind of here to rant a little about something.

LONG OVERDUE EWM NEWS!!! (plz read till the end)

Hey, everyone. Been a while, hasn't it? Especially concerning any news whatsoever on pretty much...any story of mine, really.

The pandemic has been hard for us all, especially for me. I have virtually no energy for writing anymore because of how depressing everything is and how isolated and imprisoned I always feel because of how stupid people are about taking the disease seriously.

    More Loss

I've lost yet another beloved pet. I thought I would have more time with Betsy. Much more time. But her health very suddenly deteriorated, and within three days she died in my lap.

Why have I had to deal with so much death? I don't know. But I made this video to pay tribute to every family member I've lost over these past three years as a way to allow myself to grieve.

New Idea · 6:55pm Sep 5th, 2014

So, lately, a lot of things has distracted me from writing. School, sleep, general Interneting, but the thing that has probably taken away most of my attention thus far is Majesty. And as a result, my pony-infected mind has been absent-mindedly brewing a certain new concoction in my head;

A Majesty/MLP crossover.

In case you don't know what Majesty is, it's a game that takes place in an RPG world, except you are the king and your job is to manage your kingdom's economy while the heroes you hire, who are independent thinkers and not under your control, go out and do regular RPG quest stuff, fighting monsters and gaining EXP, visiting the marketplace for healing potions and stat-buffing magical artifacts, purchasing newer, stronger weapons at the local blacksmith, and occasionally running from a perfectly-winnable fight like a damn coward. So basically it's a Sims game with RPG elements thrown in.

Now, the reason why this crossover appeals to me so much is one simple fact; Equestria and Ardania have so much in common it's hysterical.

Just one example is the various guilds and temples available to you in the game and how they would relate to various MLP characters. Firstly, there are the Temples to Helia and Lunord, the gods of the sun and moon. Don't we have pretty much the same thing in Equestria? Celestia and Luna would doubtlessly be intrigued by these two churches' deities of worship, and like the old conflict between Nightmare Moon and Celestia in the past, Helia and Lunord's followers despise each other. (in gameplay this means once you build one, you cannot build the other) Having already resolved the differences between Night and Day between themselves and being the harbingers of friendship they are, no doubt they would try to find a way to resolve the old feud between Lunord and Helia. Discord would get a kick out of the followers of Fervus, Ardania's god of chaos, and their warrior units, aptly named the Warriors of Discord. Of course, being that Fervus is also the god of nature, and his cultists have the ability to charm animals and certain monsters into your service, Fluttershy would feel right at home among them.

The Wizard's Guilds are naturally populated by great practitioners of magic, many of which carry reputations rivaling that of Starswirl the Bearded. There's nothing you can say to convince me that Twilight (and probably Trixie too) wouldn't go absolutely bananas over that and promptly find ways to join these guilds.

Zecora would love the Rangers, as they share a love of the wild and nature, and Rainbow would love them because she and the Rangers both have an insatiable appetite for adventure.

Applejack, on the other hand, would completely loathe the dishonest Rogues, who are greedy thieves that steal whatever gold they can get their hands on, (sometimes even stealing from your houses and marketplace) and are also your most cowardly heroes, running from a fight as often as they pick one. She'd definitely have issues with the Rogues Guilds.

The serene and generous nature of Agrela's priestesses would appeal to Rarity, as the priestesses spend most of their day healing the sick and wounded, free of charge. She'd also like the Monks of Dauros, but would probably become slightly frustrated by their life-long vow of silence, rendering conversation impossible.

However, the followers of Krypta would probably not find any friends in Equestria, considering they fervently worship the goddess of death and are all potent necromancers. They are by no means evil, (although the Lich Queen, one of Ardania's deadliest foes, was once a Krypta High Priestess) but the fact they practice dark magic that's most likely outlawed in Equestria, not to mention their cold, callous nature, would be unlikely to endear them to the populace. (not that they really give a shit lol)

So yeah, that's basically my idea. What do you guys think? (word of warning, I will ignore any comments that say I have too many stories already)

I think this is the most amazing idea ever.

I just want you to get back to The Equestrian Wind Mage. Please? :fluttercry:

I'm not in the mood for EWM right now.:rainbowwild:

2431182
You're lucky, because I would have bitten that finger off.

2431185 Ok, that GIF was uncalled for, I'm sorry. What I SHOULD have done instead of get all butthurt was ask: Any reason in particular?

2431232
I just don't have any inspiration for it at the moment. I don't have a distinct Zelda muse to work with right now.

Haha I spent many, many hours in Ardania back in the day. One of my all time favorite PC games. Pity about the sequal but what can you do?

I almost always ran Krypta/Fervis and usually Helia. Often I would try to get Dwarves as well since gnomes are crappy and my younger self didn't like my Heroes spending their gold in elven bungalows.

Not quite sure how well one could pull off such a crossover, but it might be neat to see.

I'm all nostalgic now. Gunna go break out the old discs I think and give it another play through. Good luck with the story dude.

Thanks, mate. Yeah, I'm pretty much the same, since having temples to Krypta and Fervus means you have an entire army of monsters safeguarding your city while your heroes are out adventuring. When I have the Veteran Heroes mode engaged, (I have Majesty Gold) I hire Gnomes who are already high-leveled enough to be Gnome Champions, and to my surprise, they can actually put up a decent fight. Seeing one actually successfully taking down a friggin' TROLL single-handedly was pretty epic to see. I often stick to Lunord though, as I value speed over strength. (plus their innate teleporting abilities allow them to save their butts at times when most other heroes can't)

If this crossover comes to pass, it'll take place in the timeline of the first game. Though I'm terribly fond of the idea of Majesty 2's Monster Kingdom expansion pack, Majesty 2 itself kinda messed with everything that the original had come to represent. There'd probably be a mix of Equestrian and Ardanian villains causing trouble too. (imagine an alliance between King Sombra and the Lich Queen or Witch King, yikes)

Question #1 Majesty 1 and the online game? (which ill admit is a fanwork)
Question #2 Adviser?
Question #3 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Glad to know a few people other then me play it. It is a very fun game and I hope the devs decide to return to main Ardania some day (they have a few spin off games that take place in the same world)

2431535
No, just the original and possibly the Northern Expansion, since I only have Majesty Gold.

Second, how could I NOT add the Advisor??????

Third, glad you agree.

I wouldn't mind reading it. I have no idea about the game but you seem passionate about it, plus if your other stories are anything to go by I'll want to read this one too.

The followers of Krypta could find some friends in Sunnytown. They could also practice their arts on the Bone Fiends.

I don't think their intentions for the Blanks would be very friendly...:applejackconfused:

2431545 The online game Kingdoms Of Ardania (i think) is free it's got alot of flavor text and interesting things you get to play as one of the temple classes and everything changes depending on what you do and how you handle things.

oh and the game loves kicking your ass with low level monsters too XD

I don't know why you'd bother asking us about it -- it's brilliant. Now I want to read it, but I can't. :raritycry:

Also, I'm not three weeks late. I'm fashionably late.
