    An Update

So this blog was a long time coming.  It’s been, uh, quite a while since I posted here, and I’ve also been somewhere between glacial and snailish on getting new stories out.  What have I even done this year? Three or four? And a couple were just a thousand words. One was even a poem, and I’m not even sure that counts.

Story Promotion: Ghost of a Rose · 7:51pm Sep 4th, 2014

The world around Roseluck is slipping away piece by piece.

When all that remains are memories and the scent of roses, a friend tries to help her hold onto them before they fade away.

Before she fades away.

What happens when you fall in love with a story?

What happens when you let it flourish? When you let its roots grow deeper than you planned?

This is what can happen.

I’ve seen this story grow from a simple one-shot discussed over a series of PMs to what it is now: an emotional epic. There may not be any dragons to slay, but who needs dragons to tell a sweeping tale? This is a story about a life. A life, and all the memories, joys, and heartbreaks that go with it.

Ghost of a Rose has been a labor of love from the start, and it has been humbling to watch it become what it is. Any look through my catalogue of stories would show a predilection for one-shots. If this is what’s possible if I let my ideas grow, it might be time to spread my wings a little bit.
