Just had a positively evil idea for a crossover... · 6:14am Aug 11th, 2014

Mass Effect...

Plus The Conversion Bureau.

And just to prove the concept... (ME spoilers, naturally.)

The Conversion War - "Also widely remembered as the First-contact war, the incursion of Equestria —Initially thought a boon to all mankind and a tiding of a golden age for two worlds— is now thought to be one of the darkest moments of mankind..."

Protean Ruins - "In the year 2067, explorers on Human-Mars discovered the remains of an ancient space-faring civilization. In the decades that followed, it was to many's disappointment deemed little more than a scientific curiosity, even then rendered obsolete by unicorn cabals and spell arrays. Nevertheless, the small cache of eezo proved applicable —if one of the more dangerous 'crops'— in rock farming, offering a welcome if seldom-used technological alternative to levitation spells..."

Alicornification - "The process —Theorized to be possible 2071 by famed geneticist Glorious-Dawn Smith, but performed the first time successfully first 2083— uses aggressive gene-therapy, cloned limbs, magical infusion and a wide range of cybernetics to force what was previously widely known as 'ascension to princess-hood.' Based on gene-sequencing on the remains of Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadance and Princess Twilight, the highly controversial procedure is still considered a land-mark in medical technology. Although it has allowed human space-ships vastly extended range and speed, as well as a smattering of applications both civil and military, the procedure nonetheless remains somewhat rare thanks to the 36.2 percent mortality rate..."

Second Contact - "Humanity, near needlessly to say, approached the prospect of meeting another intelligent species again with trepidation. Nowadays it is considered somewhat humorous, but the first shaky diplomatic talks with the Geth were tense affairs as a result. However, given the normally reclusive species common-ground in the atrocities committed on them by the Quarians, compared with the atrocities of Celestia, both Consensus and diplomatic agreements were soon reached..."

The Citadel - "A massive artifact of Old Machine origin, currently serving as the center of Council Space. Intended to bring The Old Machines back from dark space, as well as serve as a easy target to harvest knowledge of the current Cycle. All diplomatic attempts to make or force the council to evacuate The Citadel has so far failed. The Citadel is considered currently inactive, but should be considered a priority target in case of Old Machine incursion. Be advised, as the largest mass effect relay on record The Citadel is theorized to have similar counter-measures against destruction or tampering as were found during the dismantling and destruction of the Charon relay...."

See what I mean? Hell, just imagine the Council's reaction to that last bit, let alone all the rest... :trollestia:

Right now I've got too many long stories half-done to even consider this one, sadly, but I thought I'd share the idea at least.

Feel free to nick the idea, be it just the concept or the above tid-bits as well. Just give me a line of text as credit and shoot me a PM so I actully get to read it if you do.

Why is there no like button for blog posts?

Honestly, frak the Geth.

They are kind of interesting, but to side with toasters over organics? Hell no.

And the sub-par writing of ME3, pulling all the stops to paint the Quarians as 100% villains? Screw that.

I personally don't think the Quarians was portrayed that way. They had their back against the wall as they saw it, and acted accordingly.

I did however notice a rather decent string of the Geth getting bent over a banister, simply because they are inorganic. Heck, I think there was a joke in ME3 that made Legion just walking around on The Citadel canonical no matter what the player did in ME2.

Just puzzled me greatly that not even any of the species outside the council tried to achieve diplomatic relations.

Now, to be fair, there was a 'theme' of organics vrs synthetics running through ME3, if a rather shoddily handled one... but the main idea with the above blurbs at least was 'what if the Geth had actually made contact with a race that could see them as equals?'

Hell, the ME humans had a strong AI before The Council forced them to basically 'pull the plug' on the poor bastard. Link.

Even the codex barely acknowledges that 'Eliza' as much as existed, something I personally screamed 'we're not supposed to talk about her.'

Still, the blurbs above was just whatever that popped into my head for the sake of a proof of concept. If I ever do a 'full' version of this idea, all of the above might end up on the cutting-room floor.

Nice! That one of yours?

Yep. Decided to try out a different style. Paths helped make lines neat, but whatever I did, it always felt unnatural. So I decided, screw it, I have a freakin tablet, this is what its used for. Then I sketched directly onto the computer and painted the colors on. My "artstyle", on paper at least, has a certain choppiness that I wasn't able to reproduce until I stopped using vectors.
The other reason I drew it is because during my summer classes, there was a "game" where we have to say 2 truths and 1 lie. I said
1) I drove a tank in the past.
2) I write fanfiction.
3) I'm allergic to seafood.
They thought it was more likely that I drove a tank than that I write fanfiction. I don't like saying things out loud, so I dropped the link into an assignment I submitted online.
Oh, and I redid my profile pic.
And I'm still waiting for robot ponies.
