The 18th Brewmare of Bluey Napoleon by horizon (8,913 words) took first place in the recent write-off that Elpis took second place in, and I don't begrudge it. Read it if you like Terry Pratchett, or GhostOfHeraclitus. Now is the time to put it in the featured box.
Fifty Shades of Brad by D G D Davidson (1454 words) is... lemme just quote PresentPerfect:
After the overt bondage metaphors, it soon becomes apparent what’s going on: Twilight is a horse, and Brad is her owner. Okay, well, that’s fun and cute, and… not all there is to this. It crosses the line twice, taking a turn no one sees coming and becoming a new version of an old classic. This is not one you want to pass up, the rare fic that can go from hilarious and meta to “oh my god” without warning and pull both off.
The execution is perfect, and it seems exactly the right length. This is a good story to study to see how to show just what you want to show and then get out. Content warning: It's both funny ha-ha, and funny creepy.
Alas, I think I would have enjoyed Fifty Shades of Brad more if I hadn't known what it was, but most likely, I would not have read it at all without you pointing it out to me.

Brewmare is hovering near the bottom of the non-mature featurebox (I actually have a screenshot of it in the featurebox while it's still the first story on the Recent Stories list, which seems to be due to a hiccup of nothing new being posted for two hours after me), though tonight seems like an awfully quiet ponyfic night. I definitely appreciate the boost!

Creepy? I'm bought on the Flash Sentry/Francis/Brad story. Like, so much yes on the (not exactly real, but that ain't gunna stop me from reimagining it as a smutfic) bondage!
Not entirely sold on the Blueblood story, but if it's being joked that it looks like Ghost's work then it should be worth a shot. I'm assuming it's mostly cuz it has a whole chapter dedicated to footnotes? I get that's the joke, but c'mon! It's gotta look like Ghost actually wrote it. If I read it and see those specific nuances and little identifiers that authors always leave in their writing and get the feeling that it was Ghost behind the keyboard, then I might start believing horizon is actually Ghost's sock puppet. Or vice versa.
... Okay, yeah. I'm in on the somewhat pretentious sounding Blueblood story.

The Brad one was fucking hilarious. Yet, it steps too much into the mundane to be too disturbing for me. But it's pretty close. Just short of the border. Like, an inch. Sure, it rustled my jimmies a little.
Still pretty awesome.

"50 Shades of Brad" reads kind of like "25 Flowers for Algernon (Nos. 26-50)"
