Hey guys! This blog is exclusively for Stuck in a Rainbow, one of my less popular stories that I'm... less proud of than others lol. But still, there's some good RedBrony flare in it, and I'll bet a couple jokes make you laugh.
Anyway, for those of you patient enough to wait for updates to Stuck, fear not! For as much as all the fans of Last Brony will loathe me for saying this, I'm telling you anyway: Stuck has been the only thing I've been writing for the last couple months.
Here's why I stopped updating it. You see, the original plan was to write the whole damn thing, and then just publish chapters regularly. Well, after almost a year of writing, I decided to just start publishing, hoping that I'd keep writing it. Well it would have worked, except a monkey wrench got thrown into the works: Discord got reformed. For the longest time, he was to be the main villain. And since he didn't actually make an appearance on-page for a long time, only small tweaks were made to chapters before publishing them. So everything you read so far hasn't changed.
Though I have made a LOT of touch-ups to all the published chapters within the past month. So it's a little freshened-up.
But I digress, I was able to publish all the chapters up until Discord actually started doing the villain thing. But I could never get over that hump in the story, the point where Discord was no longer the (main) villain. Because the whole endings for both Church's and Dash's sides of the story had to be changed... completely. But a year later, I finally did it! I plotted out BOTH endings. I haven't fully written the whole story yet, but I have a working outline and 5 new finished chapters!
Let's be honest, the character development in Dash's side of the story was... pretty bad. I mean, how many of you could actually name the human/changeling/Claire's brother that Dash and Morgan had tied up for a lot of chapters? If you answered zero, you were correct. I had failed to ever mention his name in any published chapter. It's funny, because I thought I had when he was first introduced. I have since gone back and added his name to the old chapters, for new readers to figure it out betterly.
So I decided to solve this poor character description in a way that doesn't require me to rewrite old chapters! Beyond adding what's-his-face's name. Hehe, now I'm just playing with you. It's Conner.
Here's my solution: Hire an artist.
This was done by the wonderful KaoKay, the same person who did the cover art for That One Passenger.
When I publish a new chapter, I'll also publish these portraits of the human characters in a separate chapter - with their names - for reference whilst reading.
See if you can guess who's who! (If you can even remember anyone lol) I'll give you a hint: one of them's Church.
Can't wait for that story to get another update. I'll be honest, though, I had pretty much completely forgotten about it before you posted this.
