So, holy shit! I'm thrilled that you fans of this story are...well, fans of this story, but I never expected to see something like THIS. I would've posted about it earlier today but I don't work from home and thus couldn't exactly mention it till later, even though I can keep my browser open and occasionally refresh it from time to time.
I know the bottom 3 slots on the featured box are usually either new stories that are simply climbing the charts or, according to the algorithm, older stories that do get heat when a new chapter is published, but because of their age don't typically go any higher than that. As far as I know. Sounds like a 'let the new guy have his 15 minutes' type of situation, but that's not really the point. Somehow, TBaTC actually made it to the top of the lower three, and then even as it was being pushed off, managed to climb a spot again! I'm...flabbergasted! I know several weeks ago, it made the bottom of the list for like, 5 minutes, whoop dee doo, but this time it was like, 2 hours and got a nice chunk of attention. That's...freakin' incredible!
I know that when I started out here, particularly with my first fic which was the prequel to TBaTC, it was amateurish and probably suffered from a few cliches I would have liked to have avoided. Even though I wasn't really familiar with tropes and what people wanted to see or didn't want to see, I had a rough idea – enough to put a story together that people accepted really well despite the cliches and stuff. I guess they weren't bashed over the readers' heads like other fics.
Since then, I'd like to believe I've been able to catch grammatical mistakes, avoid plot holes, not make any cliches sickening to read if present, and make the characters and stories interesting. Granted, I don't always; nobody's perfect of course. But the fact that I was able to get a story, one that's already well into the meat of the action, onto the box without it being some futa foal incest clopfic or something, and without having 1000 followers, just feels really awesome and I HAVE to thank you guys!
My first clopfic and its sequel, Sweat and PtTP, did make it into the box (hell, Sweat got to #1!), but I wasn't sure at the time how to go about trying to make such a fic. Sweat was more of an experiment and it turned out amazingly well. Then I got the idea for its sequel and another potential one after TBaTC is done, but even with that all being the case, people praised the quality of the writing and the excellent and accurate portrayal (even for a clopfic) of the characters involved in both of them.
I'm thrilled you guys and girls like my work, and I hope you'll keep checking out what I produce. People have enjoyed my adventure, slice of life, clop, even the horror trilogy. Here's to more quality, even if the quantity doesn't come!
