Okay! Time for more words of wisdom! I haven't seen the past episode, but I'll do that at some point this week. I'll be brief here with the reviews as best I can remember too.

    Decent news

Okay, I'm finally finished with the final chapter of the third entry in the Sweat series. Now, I just have to get started with its side story. I can do that this weekend or something. However, I kinda want to publish it at the same time as the final chapter. I also have to catch up with the reviews. I can do a few of them tomorrow morning during some down time at work. Probably do the next

    Few more reviews

Alright, so! I was away for about 4 days and had been playing some catch-up. Went to Denver for some business, but my friend moved out to Loveland January last year, so I figured I'd take a few more days and hang out. Was a lot of fun! Saw a lot of gorgeous nature and some wild animals, including eating a bison burger that had zero fat on it whatsoever and kept me full for the entire day.

    Season 9 kicking off

Alright, a couple weeks behind, but that was typical in the past. I've been excessively...well, distracted by WoW and work and stuff, so I, Spy and its eventual sister story have been sitting there collecting dust. I'll be able to get some cranked out this Sunday after I get home from Daytona Beach after...ugh...hanging out with family. Fucking holidays. Kind of hard to believe that we're

More reviews! · 2:31am Jun 10th, 2019

Okay! Time for more words of wisdom! I haven't seen the past episode, but I'll do that at some point this week. I'll be brief here with the reviews as best I can remember too.

Common Ground. Holy shit, Quibble Pants is back? I did not honestly see that coming. Okay, that's kinda cool, and this time, Patton's Oswald's wife and daughter are doing the voices for Quibble's girlfriend and stepdaughter. Oh yeah, daddy's definitely dead. The mom even mentions that it's okay to remember him, which heavily implies death. Divorcees usually don't speak about someone so morosely. I have to say right out of the gate that they both did a really good job with the voices, especially the little girl. How often do you see bad animated movies like, for instance, the movie the Nostalgia Critic reviewed years ago called "The Christmas Tree", where the child actors are SO FUCKING TERRIBLE? Patton's daughter kinda knocked it out of the park, all things considering. A reasonable conflict too. It can be hard for some parents to connect with kids that aren't theirs no matter how hard they try. Was a pretty consistent way he finally did get on her good side. He is a bit of a nerd and reading a book about the Wonderbolts and helping her learn some stuff using the book he had paid off handsomely and would probably work IRL. The jokes and humor was good and Patton Oswald is always a plus. Giving it a strong 8/10.

She's All Yak. They're ponifying My Fair Lady? Many lolz. At least it wasn't Pretty Woman. How would that go over anyway? Yona's a kid and, well, she isn't a whore, so.... ANYWAY, Rarity was a trip once again with the lines mirroring the source material, as she usually is. Song was good too. Sandbar apparently has a thing for big girls. Unless Yona is actually petite, but we're not really sure about that. Some of the humor was okay, but few things got much of a laugh out of me. Was honestly a pretty sweet episode, especially from the two focus characters. Kind of makes you wonder if Spike's attraction to Rarity isn't really just a simple crush or if there actually is something behind interspecies relationships in the show. Maybe. I dunno. Yona's still best Y6'er though. Overall, another nice episode that should leave you smiling. Give it a strong 8/10 too.

Frenemies. Holy shit, a villain episode. Have we ever had one of these? I don't THINK we have. So, Grogar sends Larry, Moe and Curly to get his bell that was stashed away in a magically protected mountain that's supposed to be Mt. Kilimanjaro. I have to agree with some commenter on a video I saw on...some video about this episode that Mt. Fillymanjaro would have world's better than what they came up with. This episode was a ton of laughs. Cozy ends up screaming at the mountain man, Chryssy fails in her own way and Tirek says fuck it. The song was entertaining too before their trek. With this episode turning out the way it did, I have to wonder a few things. First, with Grogar's all-seeing eye thing, did he see them plot against him? I wouldn't doubt he was keeping an eye on them, and I wouldn't doubt that he could fuck their world up over who knows how many miles if they decided they were going to run off and say fuck the whole thing. Are they going to actually work together and stab him in the back anyway? They just proved to each other that they actually are a pretty strong team when they combine their strengths. I hope that doesn't mean in the end that they're going to be reformed. Enough with the reformed villains! Life has bad guys! Entertainment has bad guys! Bad guys make for interesting entertainment.....real life, not so much, but we're not talking real life right now! That final line where they all reject the idea that they're becoming friends was fantastic. Nonononono, we're just allies, nope! Lastly, is that hiding spot REALLY all that...hidden? Kind of surprised Grogar didn't just walk around the corner and ask them 'hey, wtf is this?'. Still, fun as fuck episode, loved every minute of it. Easy 9.5/10.

Sweet and Smoky. Huh, Fluttershy seems to be over her dragon problems from way back when, but considering how much she came over Spike the baby dragon, this was almost a no-brainer for her. Plus, Smolder and Ember probably helped with that too. Now, if she would have seen Ember's DAD, well.... Now, I wasn't asking for more Garble. He's still incredibly one-note and I don't care that they decided to make him be into bongo drums and poetry. No one I know that has the kind of attitude he has is into that kind of stuff. They're more the jock type, and I'm sorry, but jocks aren't into poetry. I think it would have been better if Smolder just tried to build a bridge and Spike ends up doing something that genuinely impressed Garble to the point that he decides to be cool with him, like doing something really important or nice or helpful for Smolder, something he didn't think Spike had in him. What exactly? I dunno. You'd think helping hatch the eggs would be a huge thing, but they only hatched because Garble made a fool of himself. If Spike had stood up to them and chewed them out even harder than Fluttershy, maybe that would have been enough for Garble, I dunno. Wasn't really a fan of this one, though the baby dragons were cute and Fluttershy had some memetic as hell moments. In fact, didn't see steal the 'So AWESOME!' face from RD? I think she diiiiiid! And it was adorbz. Final score unfortunately, about a 4/10.

Lastly, Going to Seed. An Apple family episode. Okay, let's see what's going on on the farm this time, since apparently, no writer can write poor AJ doing anything else. Supposedly there's some harvest time where all the trees are in bloom at the same time, which is....odd, I'd figure that the trees would always be on different cycles so you can have a continuous flow of produce for the market, but what do I know? I never worked on a farm before. Anyway, AB hears about The Great Pumpkin...err, Seedling, sorry, and decides to go catch him for never ending harvests as a reward. Okay, well, I'm still not sure why Granny thought another senior citizen would be able to help knock apples off trees or cart them to the barn or wherever. As soon as that first night ended up revealing a bizarre line of apples in the morning, I figured it was Big Mac working all night, which would explain why he's half dead all day. His grouchiness got a few laughs though. Kind of funny how simple the facial expressions and movements and stuff were in the first couple seasons, save for a few spots, compared to how they are now. I guess years of using Flash will do that, but hey, I'm not complaining at all. Keep them coming! For...another 16 episodes. Hm. The sisters' interactions were cute, but I find it a little odd that AJ would suddenly be so gung ho about trying to catch something she figured out was just a story like Santa Claus. Guess when magic is a real thing in your world and all kinds of weird things happen all over the place, I suppose a mythical figure that could somehow bless your crops wasn't THAT far fetched. The bit about the carrots at the end was kinda cute though. Big Mac, were you over there too? I mean, why would the Great Seedling be interested in carrots? Unless he's NOT interested in apples. Maybe that's why AJ never caught him when she was young. She was looking in the wrong place. Ah ha! Anyway, not a bad episode, but nothing that really stuck out all that much. 7/10 for me.

I shall watch Student Counsel soon enough. I already say The Last Crusade a couple weeks ago, but I will refrain from talking about it, but for those who haven't seen it yet, OMFG, HUGE event! However, I don't understand people's discontent about the main part of the episode. Not really. But I will address it further later. Until then!
