AKA, if you don't want spoilers up to this point, run away. And if you think I'm gonna talk about that fucking Rainbow Rocks movie, you must be out your mind.
Season 5 Discussion: The Countdown Begins
Before you say anything, yes that's a legit frame they put there, not an edit. So don't blame me about that in. Hasbro is trying to appeal to cloppers already, this time the stallion lovers. Ladies and gay gentlemen, prepare your buttcheeks.
Anyways, because Comic Con didn't have Korra this year cause it's already playing, and I can't be there to actively be involved in some of the costuming until probably next year, I had to settle with news on MLP. I could have also watched some AMC panels, and Nintendo, but honestly I haven't watched Walking Dead yet, and I'm already sold on the Wii U, so I don't think those were necessary. However, with season 5 of FIM coming out, that is something to look into a bit. Season 4 was a huge step in the right direction, but I felt it did have some shortcomings. Mainly how janky some of the characters were that season, the fact that I still don't buy Twilight being a good princess, and the finale, which despite that DBZ shit, I didn't like much. But as a whole, it gets like a 7/8-10 cause it was overall a pretty swell season. But season 4 is in the past. Time to look on to season 5, and with that, a little animatic for those who are curious.
So we start out in the place for the league of superfriends, cause lets be honest, thats what this looks like. It looks like they've taken a hint from Spike's comics, and started being superheroes cause they all have thrones, they all sit in a room, and when all together, they have map in the center of the room. A map that has Pinkie's house that can be crushed by Spikezilla. Ah, sweet tears.
Rainbow Dash suggest that they go to some strange looking town that they never been to before, cause it's gonna be full of danger and excitement, and it's at this point where either I believe Rainbow Dash is one of the bravest characters in the group, or just downright suicidal. Suicidal would be my best guess. Everypony wants to go along with the idea except for Fluttershy who might stay behind with Spike, who thank god they gave a reasonable reason for him not going along with them. His reasoning? He has a life. No seriously, he wants to stay back and watch the Hoofball game with Big Mac. So not only does he have a life, he has other friends to chill with: male friends. See, writers? Was it that hard to write two lines of dialogue to explain why he didn't go? All it took was 5 seasons and everyone hounding you for it for you to get it right. See, all they need is a little tough love. Bitches get they act straight.
It was kinda messed up that as soon as he started changing her mind because of that. I remember back in a simpler time when you used to think Spike was cute, but that's another story. The six go out to the new land, and act cautiously before going in to this strange untold world. Pinkie of course, being Pinkie, decides to scout ahead, hiding behind and under rocks, in a semi humorous fashion admittedly. I can buy her not getting crushed by the rocks too, since living in a rock farm, you'd learn not to get crushed by giant rock. Though in some cases I kinda wish she hadn't learned how to deal with it. A crushed Pinkie is best Pinkie
So they get to this town and they all learn that everyone's happy and smiling. Like.. creepily so. Like... fuck, I don't want one of these guys smiling at me.
I'm not even sure if they're trying to appeal to little children anymore; this is the face of someone who ends up taking little children away, and I hope to god that ain't true. This fucker right here... this is the guy you call the cops on. Another more minor concern is about their cutie marks
These guys look like they go under a communistic society and have the same cutie marks. And with the fact that cutie marks play a role in how you live your life, it once again shows, that having an assmark is a fucking miserable existence xD.
Overall though, the preview is a good premise, and if executed well, I can see some potential growth out of this. I'll go into those later in one of my "How this Season Can Avoid Sucking" style blogs, but it's safe to say that they at least might have a chance to have a better episode premiere than last seasons, if they handle it right. Also doesn't look like Discord will be involved. THANK GOODNESS
As for other FIM season 5 news, it seems like some season 4 characters will return. We'll see Coco Pommell come back, which is okay I guess, but the real star shining is Maud Pie coming back, and more on Pinkie's family. Now, despite me not liking Pinkie, her best moments are when she's either acting like a manic depressive pony, or interacting with her family. Non of that being a spaz bullshit. RD's getting a solo song, and that's alright I guess, and Luna's having a nightmare. But honestly, writers, I don't give a shit about Luna development at this point. I want to know if Celestia is still having wet dreams about reuniting with Good King Sombra or if Cadance has gotten a coach on how to be a good character. Lets be honest here guys, the princesses aren't getting that good of a development
And then there's the 100th episode. From what I read, it's apparently an episode featuring characters that haven't been given that big of a role. So, maybe characters like Mr. and Ms. Cake, Zecora, and even some background characters will get some love here. That or they'll be a troll and give us an episode with Discord and Fluttershy drinking 100 cups of tea.
Anyways, as far as season five goes, I'm looking forward to it more than I was season 4, though I do hope they plan on ending the series soon. Make sure it stays fresh and goes out on a high note. But while it's still here, this season at least looks somewhat promising. Let me know what you guys think. Excited or just waiting for what you see? Any theories on what the villian will be? I've always had an irrational fear of suburbs where every house is the same color, size, style, etc. This will be a scary episode/two-parter/season.
I guess I should probably watch the rest of Season Four first though.

Don't flame or slam at me, mate, I'm honestly intrigued if that is what it is. And for Fluttershy to actually refuse (yes, she actually initially said NO to her friends, then was sucked into it once Spike left out that there was gonna to be a lot of guy things to do with Big Mac, not to mention others. I wonder it if it a shoutout to some of the other guys out there----Can you say tailgate party while the girls are gone?)
And yes I am aware that he is wearing a football helmet, so it's possibly obvious, but I still want to ask that question.
As for the rest of what happens for the upcoming episode: Anyone think that there is a "Story of the Blanks" vibe here? I'm with PInkie---I don't like it. It just screams CULT!!!! to me....
