Greetings fellow MDW fans.
As you are aware, I have finally began writing again. As I explained in my last blog post a long time ago, I placed the story on hiatus due to both troubles in RL and a crippling writer's block.
You see, the current new chapter was actually the first part of what was going to be a multi-chapter arc dealing with a terrorist who targetted Ponyville (hence the subtitle chapter "The Terror of Pony Town" it had). However, since I had so much trouble figuring out a plausible way for MDW to reveal how she knew who the terrorist was, it brought the writer's block. After some time to meditate (and due to the help of several fans who shall remain nameless) I decided to "gordian knot" the whole thing and just leave the first part and include what was to be the end result: the ability for MDW to speak with a different voice.
Another problem was due to both the writer's block/RL stress, two whole seasons have passed with several developments in canon storyline. The most base-breaking of those are, naturally, Twiley becoming alicorn, the "loss" of the elements, and the destruction of Golden Oaks/creation of the new castle. As explained in my blurb, I have officially made this series an "Alternate Universe" one. I'm not against any of the changes nor am I an "anti-Twilicorn" supporter. It's just that the series needs to keep the library and our little egghead a regular unicorn for my ideas to work (and believe me, I had a lot of ideas since even before Season 3 that were stuck due to the writer's block over "Terror of Pony Town").
Now that that's out of the way, the way is paved towards the rest of the chapters. Now I won't mention exactly what I got planned, but I will mention that some extra ideas were..."inspired" by reading kkat's epic FO:E (yes, I read it all during a year or so ago and despite never playing the original FO games it inspired and explained several things I was going to include without it having the MST3K Mantra).
Some of my ideas for later chapter include (note, these MAY end up being future chapters or not. These are just ideas):
-An inclusion of my favorite gen3.5 pony (yes, it's a shunned generation but the idea I got with her is a good one)
-The return of Game Marester (my Joker/Riddler expy) whose purpose is now to bear MDW at a game. By any means necessary.
-A visit to other cities (specially Las Pegasus/Applewood, Manehatten and Fillydelphia. Fillydelphia will be based on FO:E as it being the "industrial" capital of Equestria but without the "bad future" parts. Fillydelphia Fun Farm will be an important location, nevertheless).
-MDW will "lose" a certain part of herself thanks to a brand-new villain but gain something better in return. All I will hint to this new ability is that it will make her more like the "Arkhamverse" games' Batman. (Naturally, when she is as Pinkie Pie, she will have a spell to hide it so she remains looking like a pink earth pony).
-The Griffin Syndicate will finally show its talons with several of its agents whose missions are to kill MDW or cause trouble in Equestria.
-Curious as to who all those voices near the end of Chapter 12 when Pinkie's Confidence/Bravery broke the crystal prison were? We'll get to "meet them" in a very special chapter.
-The mystery graffiti in the abandoned village where Dr. Caballus set up his Alpha Lab will be further elaborated. It is basically the most important aspect of this series and my homage to the past.
As I said, I got many ideas to write about but the problem is not just putting them in words, but also dealing with rl problems. Let's hope that my next chapter doesn't take two years to complete like this past time. The Legend will continue to trot...or maybe walk...but bear with me, ok?
This is some cool hints of the future of the story. I don't know if it is still in continuation, but I like how things are going in story.
I understand your decision to keep things more pre-season 3. It would be easier going with ideas you already had than trying to rework them just to fit with the show.
