When Pinkie Pie decides to remain the sole Mare-Do-Well, her choice ends up having both positive and negative repercussions for herself and for her town. An ongoing series about her challenges in keeping both her regular life as well as her hero alter ego.
UPDATE: After a two-year hiatus, I have returned with the next chapter. To not keep the readers waiting, I have divided it into small sections and posting them as I finish. Due to obvious reasons with so many things that have happened in the canon universe of FiM, this story is now under "Alternate Universe". Some pieces of the current canon will be included but others will be left out. Please bear with me, yes?

You just need to work on your tenses a little. It's kinda jarring to switch from past tense to present tense and back again.
Beyond that, it's a cool idea and I look forward to seeing more.
Thank you for the comments so far. I admit that I prefer to write my stories in past tense, present perfect or present/past progressive. Simple present tense is a challenge for me.
But still, I'm glad it's well received and I will try writing more in the future.

I will create my own rogues' gallery soon enough. So far two are in the works but I want to make this series a mix of both the usual slice-of-life series (how Pinkie Pie/Mare-Do-Well can coexist and her non-fighting encounters) and of course action just like the first chapter has shown.

I saw an image which hit me right in the heart and was the driving influence behind me writing a series continuing the saga of Mare-Do-Well.
I decided to update Part 2 just a tad to show homage to that image. It really brought me to tears and it inspired me more. I hope you like the modification.

I normally never comment on these things. I just read 'em. Hence why I'm a guest. But I find myself bursting with the need to say this:
This is, without a single doubt, the greatest MLP FiM fanfic I have ever read. The concept, writing, plot, and everything is just bucking fantastic. If this fanfic didn't exist, I would be disappointed in the fanon. I beg of you to keep writing! This is my favourite fanfic yet, and it likely won't get toppled anytime soon.
5 stars isn't enough. Giving this fanfic 5 stars only captures 20% of my love of it. I'll have to deal with that for now, though. Please don't stop writing, this fanfic is too awesome to give up.

You still have some odd tense shifts, and some lines are awkward. Like: "Finally, one good fly-by slash provides a stirge to sneak up on Mare-Do-Well and plunge its sharp proboscis into her back, causing her to shriek in pain and make noise for the first time since donning the mantle of the hero."

Again, an amazing chapter. Took a short while to come out, but it was worth it. And I have a feeling the police and Mare Do Well will probably clash quite a bit, a la Spider-Man.

This is gonna get interesting. Still loving the story, especially this cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see what happens next. I doubt Pinkie will go crazy like she did in "Party Of One", but she's still getting in way over her head.
And she needs to work on her logic. She thinks that if she reveals to the Cakes that she's Mare-Do-Well, they'll kick her out and fire her? She thinks that'll happen if they learn that she is the superhero that has stopped several crimes and likely saved lives? If the Cakes didn't like Mare-Do-Well or something then I'd understand, but REALLY?
Aside from that little issue, I am very much enjoying the story! Have some Spike Staches so you may provide us with moar!
I got to say that these two chapters are really good you sure out done your self. And to be honest I always thought Pinkie is the best Mare Do Well.
Thank you for the kind words, but I noticed I may have rushed in some parts and did some typos. Not to worry, they will be fixed in the second part when I delete Chapter 5a to fully integrate both halves of "A Juggling Act". This is as close to the "slice-of-life" formula of the series itself as I'll get for the first time.

I think even Bruce Wayne wouldn't be able to handle that. But anyways I really like this and cant wait to see not only Pinky but Mare-Do-Well evolve as she has to fight other, and eventually stronger, enemies. Another thing that I'm hoping to see is other vigilantes (maybe from the mane 6) pop up. But that might not happen for a long time, if at all.

168230 I never did get what that "Random" tag meant. I have no idea what that tag is supposed to signify. I mean, "Comedy" means the story is funny. "Sad" means the story is sad, "Romance" means the story includes shipping, but what does "Random" mean?
Me neither, but I use it because the series isn't exactly all-comedy, all-sad, all- slice of life, etc. It's just...random. The only part that's true is adventure because well a superhero story is chock full of that.
