My buddy PlayBitz recently commissioned a piece of art for a favorite scene of his in Flying Sky High:
When Soarin trips over the wet floor sign, and into the bucket of mop water and Dash Loses it xD
It has been added into chapter 7 in the appropriate spot.

All this artwork popping up that either includes me or something from my stories...
I feel so loved ^_^
(Next chapter won't be out till tomorrow, it's a longer one so patience ;3)

In this pic, Dash looks (facially at least) a lot like Foxglove the bat from CHIP AND DALE'S RESCUE RANGERS.
Guess that would make Soarin the equivalent of Dale. The pratfall can't have been a coincidence.

i've been watching Star trek TNG lately with a friend who's never seen it and when i'm not being blown away at how well written the show is i'm crying on the inside cause i can remember watching it when i was like 5-6 years old and not having a damn clue what was going on

I'd rather he didn't spend money on me, but PlayBitz is generously offering to commission fanart of my work. I humbly accept it, thank him, and enjoy knowing people would go out of their way for me.
I know you said it is part of your personality to feel like you need to work for everything you receive, and that is a very good moral to live by, but it doesn't mean you should deflect generosity, it's the same thing when people want to recognize you for helping me. They like you and respect you because you are a part of my process
give them a smile and thank them, people don't like it when their compliments are deflected. Even if you mean well, doing so may rub people the wrong way

Its remembering to share in the kindness. I've no problem people saying that I shouldn't have done it. just makes it that much more enjoyable when its a surprise and brings a smile to everyone. I'm one of those "weird" folk that if I did win the lottery, say the so many hundreds of millions, I think every year, I'd be the guy playing secret santa to those that need it and aren't expecting it.
I'm an Empath. I have extremely strong empathy for those around me. means I can feel others emotions which in turn feed my own. Which is another reason why I enjoy bringing about a smile to someone who needs it, and laughter for who ever will take it.

im not saying you DID rub people the wrong way, but generally i can say from experience that it's a little disheartening when you compliment someone often and all you ever get in response is, "no, it's not true" or "i'm not like that."
you've done nothing wrong at all, it's just a little depressing to talk to you sometimes cause all you do is downplay yourself
