[Reversal of Fortune] Update · 7:54am Jul 1st, 2014
Officially resumed work on the story today. With luck, I'll have the next chapter finished by tomorrow night. I'm also going back constantly and making tiny adjustments and corrections where needed in the first four chapters. Nothing major has changed, but some individuals have expressed their displeasure in Ryan recognizing an obscure Chinese goddess, so I think I'm going to take out that little bit. After thinking about it, it wouldn't make sense to have him know, even with all the books he's read.
Uh, what else? After the next chapter releases I'm gonna be doing some work on another project, a "Luna Plays a Video Game" short for this one contest in the Writer's Group. There's a free game in it for the winner, and since I'm already writing for Chaotic Note's "Luna Plays..." I figured I'd have a good advantage over the other participants. So expect that to dig a little bit into the delay for the next chapter of Fortune.
Oh, and this new chapter will be a bit shorter than the others. I know how much it sucks to see a story that you're completely out of touch with update with a 9,000-word chapter that you just really don't want to deal with. 'Cuz then you need to look back and refresh your memory on what happened before, and UGH. Who has time for all that?
So the next update will probably clock in around 6,000 words, which I think is reasonable enough.
And it's also exciting, because the next update will mean that the story is ALMOST HALF OVER. God damn, that's going quickly. It's a little tough working with chapters that are supposed to stretch a day long.
Oh. Eeeh. On that note, maybe it will go over 6,000 words. Because I'm around 5,200 right now, and it's just hitting noon in the chapter.
So I might have lied about the 6,000 words, but that shouldn't be a problem, right? You all like this story, given how you shot it a favorite, so more words per chapter should be fun, right? Good luck wading through that wordcount.
That should be it. Oh, wait, one more question.
Do you guys want me to do a brief recap of the previous chapter's events at the beginning of this chapter? So you don't have to read back? Or I could just not, that's also easy. Or maybe you have your own idea for it. Your choice, comment what you want me to do.
Naw, I'm good. You don't have to recap anything.
