One might notice that... · 2:16am Jun 30th, 2014
No, I haven't been updating on a regular basis lately.
I have a good excuse for that.
The company I was working for went hyperderp due to a combination of upper management incompetence and the stupidity of the little debt ceiling crisis from several months back finally reaching us and is basically in the process of doing into an irrecoverable death spiral. As such, I ended up laid off.
Which is a problem, because I was writing in the nice, distration-free break periods at work.
Now my writing is stopped by the siren call of the internet chanting in my ears 'fanfics... read us, read us!', and I'm getting nothing done in between job searches and fighting with the VA for my GI bill/getting my knee looked at because there is too much goodfic.
Also, seriously, for those of you saying I make a lot of references... no I don't. Any resemblance to any work of fiction in print or picture is a complete and total accident except for the series comics, many of which have good headcannon to beat them over the head with and steal from their cold, printed pages.
I hear that chant. I've yet to get through the 40+ stories on my read later list (because I'm so lazy), but I feel your pain a little.

Oh, no. I've read my entire list. The problem is that every time I turn around I find another thing to read.
Wait, you're a veteran? I didn't know that!

Likewise, but once I finish those I get kinda bored with reading and never get to my list.

Only 40, you're doing way better than me. I have 708 stories in my read later list, and 611 favorite updates...

I feel you there, I seem to add two more stories to my read later list for every one I read.

Boy... I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one blocked from achieving anything useful by the siren call of reading fanfiction!
2244581 you think 40+ is bad?
I've got over 600.
What am I doing with my life...
