New The World that Came After chapter and some news. · 4:10pm Jun 26th, 2014
As some of you may know, I recently posted the newest chapter of The World that Came After. This chapter was kind of a doozy to write and is probably one of the longest single things I've written that wasn't a full-blown fanfic.
Also, I've been planning a new story recently and was wondering if anyone her could help me with a title. The story itself is a mass effect crossover, but instead of using Shepard or any of the characters or races from the mass effect universe, I'm using different races of ponies and other creatures from the MLP universe. It's going to be the same basic story as the Mass Effect trilogy, though there will be some changes here and there to make things more unique. This whole idea was actually inspire by a fantastic story I read recently about my other favorite franchise made by Bioware, Pony Age: Origins! The story itself is amazing and should be read by anyone who enjoys Dragon Age.
Back on topic, it would be really helpful if anyone here could help me come up with a title for this story, as the two most obvious choices, Mane Effect and Pony Effect have already been taken by other stories. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
As a small teaser, here are some of my notes detailing how the races will be set up in the un-named Mass Effect story:
Asari - Unicorns
Turian - Pegasus
Salarian - Zebra
Human - Earth pony
Krogan - Clonie Pie
Batarian - Diamond Dog
Drell - Griffin
Volus - Buffalo
Rachni - Changelings
Elcor - Dragons
Quarian - Donkeys
Geth - Geth
Hanar - Minotaur.
P.S. Feel free to ask any questions or give any advice you like about this story. I'd love to hear what people think of the idea.
P.P.S. This story will also include multi-racial characters, i.e. half-asari(unicorn), half-quarian(donkey).
Why not take the simple route and call it "Pony Effect"? I mean, if "Pony Age" is acceptable in the place of "Dragon Age", then you're more than set.
This thing practically writes itself!
2236114 Unfortunately, Pony Effect has already been taken. I'm not too keen on something that simple either, though it would suffice if necessary.

Then I'm out of ideas, friendo. Good luck though, because it sounds like a solid idea.
Mares Effect
2240790 That could work.
2240790 I'm probably going to use your title since it's most probably the best fit while still referencing Mass Effect. As thanks, I'll be sure to credit you when I post the story.
2241992 no need. It's a simple pun.
Pony Effect was the inspiration for Pony Age. While the name is simple, so long as you can give it meaning, a name is important.
2249596 That's an interesting way to look at it.
I went through a lot of writing classes in college where I was always taught that the title of a story needs to be interesting as it is the first thing somebody sees. Because of this I've always shied away from simpler titles and tried to make them seem unique and interesting. It's certainly an interesting idea that a simple title can work just as well. I think that might be because with fanfiction, people are already interested or not given what you are crossing-over.
Thanks for the thought.
