And No Tear Will Be Shed

First time in my life "celebrating" new year's eve in solitude. Edgy music from my early teens is playing, my back hurts, the whisky's bottle cap has gone missing and it doesn't look like I'll have to go search for it.

Or, to summarize it as a single image:

    Ten

Exactly ten years ago today the first episode of MLP officially aired. Two days ago I finally finished watching the show. Linkin Park re-released Hybrid Theory for its 20th anniversary.

    God, I’m getting old.

Somebody Forgot to Say Something on Time and Now We Are Left with This

So, I had another birthday, as some of you might still remember. It was a pretty fun day, and the days that followed it were even better. Friends were really nice and I had a great time.

Then somebody had a bright idea.

Wait, let me try say that properly again.

Then somebody had a "bright" idea.

It is that time of the year again, 18th February. Age went up to twenty-one. Is this really already the third consecutive blog post I made on me getting older?

Perhaps not everyone knows this, but of all the stories I've written, "Burning Orchestral Domination" is, even to this day, my favorite one. Less because of the writing (in fact, it's terrible), but because I really like the concept. Octavia and Philomena are two of my absolute favorite characters, and this shirt just made it better.

However, I sadly never wrote this story past the second chapter, even though I had plans for it. I hate to admit it, but I like numbers. A lot. And sadly, this story didn't get much of them. It stays at 65 likes with this blog post after almost a year, alhough it got so many blog promotions that I lost count of them. For a very long time too it had no dislikes. (I swear I will never get over that single one, gaahh!)

"Uhh, where are you going with that wooden bow?"

It may just be my naive delusion, but I genuinely believe this story could get somewhere. Simply continuing it now after an almost year-long hiatus would be stupid though.

So, how does a rewrite under new title and story page sound? I've learned a lot since then, and I think I could use that knowledge to "fix" this story. If you want to, saying what you think about the story idea in general (because, again, this might as well all just be my delusions) would also be cool!

You should do it:pinkiehappy:

Truthfully, I like the story as is, but I can understand why you feel you might want to scrap it, and start fresh. In the end, it just boils down to this question, "Has it become a chore to write?"

I hope this helps. :twilightsheepish:

I didn't write something and then waited for it to get popular, it was already slow on attention when I was still doing it.

Oh, someone who actually read it? Cool! But yeah, the chore aspect is a little bit of a problem. I just hope I don't bail out again if I really decide to do this (though I hope some encouragement by more attention than last time could help a lot).

Ignore the old numbers; I wouldn't be getting anywhere with ths current ones. My plan was a total rewrite on a new story page, producing a significant amount of words beforehand so I can get regular update intervals, at least for the start. Additionally, description and everything would obviously be improved too.
