A person messaged me asking if they are allowed to create a fanfic in the universe that The Assassination of Twilight Sparkle and Aftermath of a Fallen Star take place in. The answer is yes, people can do this. I'm fine with anybody wanting to make their own AU or side story in the universe, somebody already has done that. However, there are some rules I wish to establish for those who wish to accomplish this.
1. You must notify me if you are going to do this. I want to let you know if I will establish this as a Canon fic with my series or as a Non-Canon. Also, if your going to do a character or a situation that hasn't been given information in the fic (such as something based on changelings in this universe or Spike who has yet to appear in Aftermath) then you may want to wait until I reveal what is canon and see how that affects your idea. Plus, I would be happy to help anybody if they need it.
2. Please tell me your idea with as much details as possible. There maybe something I can do to help you with in your development.
3. I won't allow time travel fics. Sorry folks, but no going back to save Twilight or any of that stuff.
4. If you want to do a fic based on my answer to a What If blog, then you are free to do so.
5. No Clop
6. Whatever results you get from the fic be it success or failure on based on your actions. Not by me. So if your going to make a fanfic be ready for anything.
7. Say you have permission to use my universe and link others to either my profile or my fic.
Any other questions, just ask.
Umm... If it is an AU version, then wouldn't that include the possibility of Twilight surviving?
For example, her getting crippled instead, or just wounded heavily and the story is about her recovery? (Physically and mentally, as well as trying to avoid future assassinations?)
I'm not planning on writing one, but it just strikes me as something that could be possible since... Alternate Universe and all that.

Will do, friend, will do. I have reformed one of the ideas I told you about after our previous discussion, but going by what you say here, I would be happy to tell you about it, but will hold off actually getting started on it until you lay down the canon rules.
I just made a group for all stories in the assassinverse
I think the real question is if you could stop someone from deriving your derivative one level further.
The answer is no.
Still, it'd be nice if people stay courteous enough to follow your completely optional and unenforceable wishes.
What is it about this Assassination fanfiction that is so appealing? Can anyone enlighten me on this, because I'm having a hard time seeing what's so good about it?
