I'm writing a new oneshot from today's episode. · 3:13pm May 10th, 2014
I know I said I would have everything else updated by Sunday, but that didn't happen because one of my close friends came by to visit on Thursday. We haven't spoken for over a year since he moved to Turkey, but he dropped by completely by surprise (and it was most welcome!), and therefore, I didn't have time to write much of anything. He was also visiting some family in the area and had to leave last night, so I guess I can start writing stuff, now. I was really glad to see him, though!
So... I'm going to have Rotten Apple updated soon (still probably by Sunday). But after today's episode, I need to write a new oneshot. I get the feeling that someone else might beat me to it, since I think other people will want to write the same thing, but I'm gonna try to be VICTORIOUS. So there.
Sorry to people who are waiting and stuff.
Oh, and I hated the finale. Not a joke. Don't know if it's just because something was wrong with me or what.
Oh well.

Why didn't you like the finale? I rather liked it, and thought it a fitting end to the chest story arc

When you hear my reasons, you'll see why I feel like there's something wrong with me for not liking it. I feel like I'm just... jaded, or something. Or just a big flaming asshole.
The biggest issue with me was the pacing, especially with the first half of the finale. It improved in the second half, though, and the fight was the best, most epic confrontation we've seen in this show EVER, so that was awesome. But with the first half, so much happened, and yet with the way they presented everything, it just felt like... not much happened.
I guess it's because I pay WAYYYYY too much attention to "exposition" dialogue. The first half was filled with it to the point where it got obnoxious and dragged on and on, particularly with the Princesses talking to Twilight. I was also kind of miffed when Lord Tirek's takeover of all the pegasi and earth ponies was just confined to a quick little montage and more heavy narration from Celestia about what was going down. It felt cheap, I guess.
Jeez Louise, I feel like those things shouldn't have bothered me as much as they did, but... yeah. There was more to it than that, including some random parts with the writing itself, but other than that, the episode was good, I suppose.
Maybe I should just make it a policy to shut up and keep my opinions to myself.
